Sometimes I think about how much media will be forever lost in decades to come because everything is now on streaming platforms that delete things on a whim instead of physical media.
@strypey sure! I’ve been doing front end dev and managing websites for years. When the pandemic hit, I had little to do, so I got a certificate in UX/UI. I am using those principles and techniques in my work.
@strypey I got the certificate from Cornell University online. It was wonderful. More research focused than design focus. I learned a lot about interviewing and testing.
I now use Figma to mock up web page layouts, and track Google Analytics to gauge results. Microsoft has a free tool for seeing clicks and pagethrus. That data helps a lot when presenting my customers with design options.
@strypey I love Firefly! I just finished The Expanse, I watched the series and then listened to the audio books. My favorite Cory Doctorow is Walkaway. I haven’t read Magic Kingdom, I’ll add it to my TBR list.
@strypey yes, the school lowered the cost because of the pandemic, but I had to do the math and determine if I could recoup the expenses with a higher hourly rate.
