Wish I wasn't still looking for 'that connection'.

Wednesday a guy wrote, but I was getting 'love bomb' vibes then the stupid "What's your bra size" question landed. Pffft...

Ever hopeful, when someone wrote yesterday I was still dumb enough to think "Maybe..." as he gave me his number and we texted. An agreed 'phone call didn't take place. Today, the messages on the dating site have been deleted and since I can no longer see his profile, I must have been blocked. 🤷‍♀️ 😂

Men are SO weird.

Is there anyone who doesn't think the honours system is corrupt?

My comfort eating is out of control and I can't seem to snap myself out of it.

😭 😭 😭

Menopause, thyroid cancer and a (let's all pretend it's not happening) pandemic, oh and increasingly demanding caring responsibilities aren't a brilliant combo' but still...

I'm slowly killing myself here and I know it, yet I can't seem to stop...

GAH!

If more people understood the contents of this article, or at the very least the country's decision-makers, then perhaps we'd have an effective response to the ongoing pandemic.

I don't wish him any harm... but all this "the king has cancer..." waffle is beyond overkill.

What about Gaza? What about Ethiopia? Ukraine... there's a long list of tragedies... He'll be getting the best support possible. Meanwhile women in Gaza are having caesareans without anaesthesia!

' “The government defends the mean-spirited rules which penalise carers’ earnings beyond £151 a week... then criminalise carers for any overpayments of carer’s allowance. Given HMRC have the earnings data, why don’t they [DWP] just write to carers if they think they’ve accidentally gone over the earnings limit?” '

'Timms called for the carer’s allowance earnings limit to be increased in line with the national minimum wage after it was in effect frozen five years ago...'

When I was told I had cancer, I still remember the shock.

I walked back to the train station stunned. I just couldn't absorb it; process it. I can't remember how long it took, but I know it was quite a while.

Even on the day of the surgery, I still don't think I quite believed it.

Afterwards, there was a bit of a muddle, a lost file, delays... It was awful. Not enough characters for the full story.

But when I was finally told I was all right, it took even longer for me to accept I was.

18.30 and it's beyond dusk. 😭

Sorry to repeat myself, but I dread the dark nights. I know they have to be endured, but I wish I could just hibernate. The visceral feeling in the pit of my stomach is just awful... (File under first world problems.)

@NorcalGma2 I don’t know you and don’t want to pry, but clearly you have health concerns at the moment and I can’t ignore what I’ve read.

So here are some colours from my part of the world which I hope you’ll enjoy. Please know I’m thinking of you and wishing you well.

Love your little part of the Mastodon world! 🤗

It demonstrates how long it takes for society to 'catch up' when an article like this appears.

The heading reinforces the outdated label, so doesn't help. As the narrative explains, the term "Asperger's" was retired in 2013.

I think it's about time "disorder" was retired too. "Syndrome" would be a far better term.

'Northern Lights' over Charlie's Garden, Collywell Bay in Seaton Sluice.

Will add more tomorrow (well, today actually).

We drove up to Cresswell - disappointing, though a lovely evening. Dropped down to Newbiggin... saw a bit of a show, but nothing special.

On the way home my daughter said "Look at that beam!" I pulled in when I could and it was amazing... it was almost like a rainbow in the dark.

Received a 'phone call today from my GP surgery. Apparently, the forgetfulness and weird 'pins and needles' is probably down to low levels of B12.

Several injections required in the next fortnight apparently.

Hope I see a difference following treatment. I was concerned about my poor memory which was always excellent when I was younger.

Many services have no business being in the private sector. This is one of them.

I can't think of a single service which has benefited from privatisation. Anyone remember the Probation Service fiasco? And surely everyone is now aware of the dire state of UK waters?

It is inappropriate for the 'market' to participate in the social care sector. Vulnerable people should not be subject to profit driven organisations as there is clearly tension between care and profit. https://www.channel4.com/news/boy-with-profound-learning-disabilities-reaches-out-of-court-settlement-after-abuse-in-residential-school

I'm sick of hearing Sunak warble on about "delivering for the British people..."

Just remember exactly WHAT 'Tories have delivered. CUTS! Our standard of living has diminished.

How did they ever persuade people they were fiscally responsible?

They've not improved the quality of anyone's life! People need services, and in a supposed first world country we should be able to expect better!

From our health service to pot holes, the country is in decline.

Is this what anyone voted for?

Thank you for entrusting me with your name.

I had a few friends on Twitter who chose to remain anonymous to the virtual world. I was always worried I'd forget and use their name when it wasn't a private message. Though so far I haven't been that dozy... but these days, I do wonder... My marbles don't feel too secure!

Oh, and I don't know why, but I'd assumed I was older than you. I'm 64 in February. I am an 'older' mother. My daughter is 26 this month.

They've been awake barely 2 hours and I've had 5 'phone calls already.

They're autistic and have extreme health anxiety. They won't access mental health support because "everyone's useless... makes things worse..."

I don't know how much more of this I can take. I know they're suffering, but I don't have the answers. Any reassurance I can offer barely lasts minutes. Am I 'enabling'? I hate that they're in pain, but I can't fix it.

This is destroying me.

Just had to 'let it out'... 😭
