Yesterday my daughter and I were in a shop wearing N95s and a woman commented "I've weaned myself off wearing a mask."
More fool me, I asked her why she would say "weaned".
I can't recall her response, probably because I was amazed at her telling us that she believed vaccines were what caused variants!
She added that she didn't believe in offering children the 'flu vaccine because vaccines were why a new vaccine was required each year.
Gobsmacking. Had to extricate ourselves from convo'. Batty!
Many services have no business being in the private sector. This is one of them.
I can't think of a single service which has benefited from privatisation. Anyone remember the Probation Service fiasco? And surely everyone is now aware of the dire state of UK waters?
'Northern Lights' over Charlie's Garden, Collywell Bay in Seaton Sluice.
Will add more tomorrow (well, today actually).
We drove up to Cresswell - disappointing, though a lovely evening. Dropped down to Newbiggin... saw a bit of a show, but nothing special.
On the way home my daughter said "Look at that beam!" I pulled in when I could and it was amazing... it was almost like a rainbow in the dark. #WhitleyBay#SeatonSluice#NorthernLights
It contains excellent explanations on the spread of COVID mutations/variants, why vaccination alone isn't the answer, why we should continue to mask and negative communications.
@TalktoBeverley there are huge swathes of people in England who support that. Braverman isn’t stupid. She knows Lab’s vote share last week was one of the poorest ever. Greens and Ind candidates did terrific and Labour have lost the Muslim and progressive vote. She knows people are not flocking to Labour, just not turning out for the Tories. She’s aiming to attract back those who voted Reform and those who didn’t turn out as they think Sunak is too liberal and to minimise seat loses
@Lassielmr I don't think any of us can make assumptions that we understand what most people think.
I certainly can't explain all the nuances of how I feel in one post. Unfortunately the system forces many to make their 'least worst' choice.
This article is from February, but I think it reflects the situation in England. I feel for Scotland. They make their wishes clear (I'm with them in spirit) but still have to endure 'Tory policies from Westminster.
Just heard some idiot on BBC Breakfast claiming Starmer would represent the "most left-wing government we've ever had as a country and an illegal immigrant amnesty..."
"... frame super clearly for the electorate what that choice is..."
So this going to be part of the 'Tory strategy. Fearmongering. The "left" is nothing to be afraid of folks.
Andrew Griffith apparently. Never heard of him. Evidently another 'Tory liar. Starmer... "left-wing"? Pffft...
He went on "...actually those plans are starting to work..."
"... getting control of migration and our borders which has a real impact on everybody's quality of life whether it's the price of the rent of the home they live in..."
Really? What planet is he on? Claiming this has an impact on the cost of rent? Anyone forgotten Truss? I think she had a far bigger impact.
Remind me. How long have they been in power?
Never seen this guy before, but just another lying 'Tory to despise.
