Received a 'phone call today from my GP surgery. Apparently, the forgetfulness and weird 'pins and needles' is probably down to low levels of B12.

Several injections required in the next fortnight apparently.

Hope I see a difference following treatment. I was concerned about my poor memory which was always excellent when I was younger.

@anathema_device thank you ❤️ . I hope so too. It's weirdly satisfying to have a tangible reason for what have seemed ephemeral symptoms.

My daughter had to have blood tests for a different reason, on the same day I had mine. Her being her, she'd looked at her records online. When we looked at mine, my B12 was less than a third of her results!

Not sure why it's so low, but certainly I'm not the carnivore I once was. 🤷🏻‍♀️

@anathema_device vitamin B isn't something I've thought about post-menopause. Clearly a mistake!

I've taken my health for granted in the past, but whether age-related, post-cancer or a delightful combo' I clearly need to start paying attention and look after myself. (I know it shouldn't need saying, but I've never been good at thinking about 'me'.)

I had no clue I was in perimenopause as my periods were still regular, until my GP informed me that blood tests showed I was well into transition. I assume she must have suspected, as I thought she was checking for anemia.

I resisted HRT at first, thinking a few months and I'd be through it. My GP was amused and told me it could take 5 to 10 years. Then I read the warning leaflet and my reluctance increased.

    @anathema_device funnily enough I was just thinking the other day that it's getting towards the point when neighbours who moved in last year might commence blasting their music in the garden.

    I hate they way such people don't seem to notice that no one else behaves this way, imposing their choices on a previously quiet neighbourhood. Apparently they haven't heard of bluetooth and earphones! Grrr!

    Oh my godfathers! I wrote this before I saw @fkamiah17 's post about the vile Philip Davies.

    "Services to public life"? Don't make me laugh! Self-serving, him and his equally detestable wife.

    This makes a mockery of the honours given to hard-working folk who selflessly help others.

    Like many of the country's institutions and processes, the honours system need a complete rehaul.
