Uncaged_Jay,

Damn I forgot about Kik. I wonder if it’s still used

Bud Light brewer is still struggling to sell the beer in North America over trans promotion backlash (apnews.com)

Anheuser-Busch Inbev said Tuesday that revenue growth in most of its global regions was offset by a drop in North American sales, in a sign of continuing fallout from a promotion with a transgender influencer that cost it sales....

Uncaged_Jay,

I’m not against Dylan Mulvaney or any other trans person, but what did Bud Light expect? Did they think that appealing to the lgbt community and its supporters would garner more sales? The fact of the matter is their beer is trash and the only people that seem to still drink it are people that clearly are either neutral on or actively against trans rights. This is a textbook case of not knowing your demographic.

Uncaged_Jay,

American here: I don’t have any problems sleeping, nor does my wife typically, and I can’t say that I know of anyone that takes a sleep supplement every single night.

if I finish my coursework over the summer, how is graduation handled?

Pretty much what the title says. I’m likely going to graduate after a few extra summer classes, and I’m trying to figure out how graduation will work. Is it University-specific? Or is there a general rule of thumb? I have a baby on the way and I’d like to start my career asap just to help take care of him.

Uncaged_Jay,

I didn’t chill the dough, though the recipe didn’t tell me to and my wife said I didn’t need to, so I’m thinking I over mixed it

Uncaged_Jay,

Wow, such baking

Uncaged_Jay,

This should be everyone’s fear, it feels like just anther witch hunt.

Uncaged_Jay,

Ford did just cancel all their sedans, and while Ford said the same thing, “sedans aren’t selling as well” is kind of a silly excuse considering they’re still the second best selling body style in the US and the best selling vehicle in the US for the past 20 years has been the Toyota Camry Sedan. I think car companies want to increase profit margins, and they know they can charge more for a crossover than a sedan while the cost to build will be similar for either body style.

Uncaged_Jay,

No, atoms are too small to interact with light

Uncaged_Jay,

This comic put me down a rabbit hole of quantum field theory that I was not ready for at midnight last night

Uncaged_Jay,

Hasn’t VW proven that’s a bad idea? I mean look at the reliability issues they’ve been having

Uncaged_Jay,

He was upset that it was happening in a church you walnut, not that they were selling goods and services.

Uncaged_Jay,

Kiss my ass Todd, my 6700xt and Ryzen 5 5600x shouldn’t have to run your game at 1440p native with low settings to get 60fps

Uncaged_Jay,

Ah yes, I can’t imagine how these could be used for evil… /s

Uncaged_Jay,

You’re going to tell me you wouldn’t be upset if you’re kid was Christian?

Uncaged_Jay,

For real, God forbid we keep the actual safe, clean nuclear plants running

Lemmy probably feels like Reddit when it first started, all warm cuddly and friendly to newcomers eager to discuss and collaborate around central topics.

I joined reddit on the tailwind, so it was all echo chamber, we hate newcomers, gatekeeping, automod frenzy, too many rulebreakers, too many rules, etc I could be wrong, but thats what I imagine it used to be like.

Uncaged_Jay,

This is just how it seems to go, before reddit there was Digg, after Digg went down, everyone went to reddit, now that reddit is going down, people are migrating to alternatives, with Lenmy being the most prominent one right now. I think Lemmy’s ability to have multiple instances will help cement its popularity though

Uncaged_Jay,

If anything, the US’s engagements in Vietnam and, more recently, the Middle East have shown that eradicating an insurgent force is incredibly difficult, to the point of being almost impossible. On top of that, there are weapons used during the GWOT that wouldn’t (shouldn’t(?)) Be used against American citizens, unless their goal is to be rulers of the ashes. On top of that, there are plenty of American Servicemembers that would straight up refuse to attack American citizens, and would potentially aid the insurgency with things like vehicles and ammo.

Add on top of that the extensive gun culture and sheer number of veterans in the general US population and I’d say they have a fighting chance.

I say this all as a former military intelligence analyst myself.

Uncaged_Jay,

I don’t get it, why try to keep him from running? Especially if you’re a Democrat, letting Trump run would split the Republican vote and almost guarantee a Democratic victory.

Uncaged_Jay,

Are you kidding? Should we not give narcan to OD’d drug addicts? Should we keep people from dying from lung cancer because they smoked? Should we not try to help people dying from liver disease because they’re alcoholics? They chose those situations, right?

Uncaged_Jay,

You just can’t do it as a form of protest, which should be protected under free speech
