I'm still on Reddit because I have some specific interests that is not present here or the communities about them are not active. But when people with the same interests will go here, yeah I will not miss Reddit
I support a multilateralism world. When there's more than two superpowers, countries don't feel the need to support one or another and it bring less polarisation
My experience with the Fediverse has only been through Mastodon, through which I struggled to find a community I really gelled with. Either it was supper overwhelming with meme posts or NSFW, or it was too chill to the point of nothing. Or, it was hyperfocused like FOSS/Linux and became uninteresting after awhile. May try again,...
Yes, I installed it, I was like "...why I'm there again?" and desinstalled it 5 minutes after. It will become like Twitter, with only "hottakes" to bring attention
Yeah, when I was on Twitter, it just suck the joy out of me. Everyone want to be popular, and will do shitty dramas. It was always negative things, or people showing how beautiful they are. Let me tell you that for a young trans woman still in the closet, seeing girls showing how beautiful they are just to make jealous others (they explecitly said it was their intention) was very hurtful. My gf saw me going very sorrow about life and she told to to get the fuck out of this garbage. I did, and i'm very more happy
Back in 2014 I got to see Rise Against play at the House of Blues in Boston, which was amazing, and just recently I went to see grandson and K. Flay perform together....
I never saw a concert in my life. But in 1 month, I'll be at a festival to see Billy Talent, Imagine Dragons, Talk, Grandson, Les Shirley and Weezer! Can't wait!
Transgender is when your gender is not the same as your birth sex. And as gender can be not related to sex, it can also not be related to the gender expression, which is as much do you go in masculinity of feminity by social norms. Some trans women will, for exemple, dislike skirts and wear jeans with t-shirt of metal bands. They still are women, but don't care about social norms
Im joining in on the reddit ditching thing, and was kinda worried at first that i wouldnt be able to like use it the way i did reddit as it feels like a whole new place, but after engaging with posts and people and actually being a part of lemmy rather than being lurk mode all the time i was pleasantly surprised with how easy it...
I know most of the Bethesda RPGs have massive mod support, and there's games like Minecraft that have more mods than anyone can imagine. I would consider those games pretty playable in their vanilla states. Would you say there are any games that were "saved" by modding? Or that are still kept alive by thriving modding...
Binding of Isaac is very improved by mods. Also, even if it's more plugins than mods, but every MMOs have a lot of plugins to custom the interface and make it more efficient for the type of gameplay you want
Yes, exactly. If we can have the equivalent of Reddit without the bigots, it's a big plus. Tired as a trans woman to go on r/Gaming and see transphobic comments
Lemmy was made with politicals roots. You can disagree with the political views of admins, that's okay, but it's certain that here, incitation of violence and discrimination against minorities will not be tolerated
I love how the characters interact woth each others, and how it's very relevant to today. Also, I like the philosophy of Camus, that the world is absurd and we have to make ourselves our meaning of life
It's the weekend for me, and I'd just love some suggestions. Movies? TV shows? Coffee? Holiday destinations? Software? Apps? Books? Something new to make for dinner? Websites?...
It's always the time to play FF14 :) there's a free trial before buying the game, it's goes all the way from the beginning to the end of the first extension. Basically, you can try the game by playing 100 hours for free
Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth is so big it's on two discs (www.eurogamer.net)
I went to Reddit today...
And saw a bunch of posts about the third party apps closing down, and lots of negativity about that whole fiasco....

I like this significantly better than Mastodon

Hello, creating a community on firefox fails currently, the button turns to a loading button but never proceeds to send a request anywhere
What are your favorite classic? (whatever the language)
Me, it's "La Peste" by Albert Camus
Suggest me...anything?
