Pundits absolutely do not grasp the fact that Trump's trial's value does NOT rest on whether or not it "moves voters" if he's convicted.

The VALUE is accountability.

The VALUE is a working system of law that functions--regardless of whom the person happens to be or what position that person holds.

Treating it like "no biggie" because voters APPEAR unmoved is great messaging -- for Trump.

YET they'll vote for (and wholly support) Trump, even if he's criminally convicted.

Even if you don't have kids, consider supporting the up-coming Percy Jackson series on Disney+ because:

1-The author of the books is wonderfully inclusive (the books are great for kids)

2-The young actress selected for a main role has been slammed with racism--because the character in the book was white. (I'm glad to say that the author has been loudly defending her)

I hope the series succeeds on its merits, but I particularly hope it succeeds as a huge middle finger to the racist detractors.

Wish MSM would stop talking about how Trump "must" juggle a "busy schedule."

1. Running for President is OPTIONAL. He can stop any time.

2. The man is under CRIMINAL indictment for trying to OVERTHROW US democracy (among other things).

3. He's a rapist. Somehow that really important point keeps eluding discussion of him--or is discussed as an afterthought.

But, yeah, let's worry about poor Trump having to juggle his schedule. (read: extreme sarcasm)

Note: I tracked fake networkss on the birdsite for yrs.

I had a fake acct follow me here. It was suspended BEFORE I could even report it.

I can't tell you how rare that was on the birdsite. I'd report around 1,000 fakes/day. I usually reported entire net (one acct at a time--yes, it took hours) so the their system could see the obvious pattern. Yet, I was lucky if they suspended just 20%--in a single network.. LET ALONE them catching the accts before the report.

So, kudos to the mods here!

Looking for suggestions ... for the least bad MSM outlet.

News is my "background noise" while I work, workout, etc. And, well, MSNBC hiring the Trump-loving, election-overthrowing-assistant is too much for me. (I'm gonna miss Rachel Maddow ... ugh). So, I'm losing my go-to background noise.

Any helpful suggestions would be appreciated.

But far far worse that major news outlets (cough ... New York Times ... cough) keep writing stories about the "latest" "jaw-dropping" polls.

I wish I wasn't consistently disappointed by how many people gleefully jumped on the "let's break the law for Trump" train.

If a buddy asks you to break the law, the answer is an unequivocal "no." How is that not obvious?

The only exception of ethical value is if it is a cause you believe in so much that you are willing to spend time in jail for it. But that requires not balking at accepting the consequences.

The fat cats getting fatter off of writers' work while the writers are forced to struggle is unconscionable.

Welp, a ton of people I know have COVID right now or very recently.

And an elderly, long-time family friend passed away from COVID two days ago (his wife also had it; thankfully, she survived).

It seems that a lot of work places are treating this "like a cold" now and expecting people to work, anyway.

I'm sure the family friend would disagree with those companies that it's "just a cold." Oh, wait. He can't. His body is being prepped for his funeral.
