I’m a #gaymer who loves romps in the digital world! Books, Creative Writing, Anime/Manga, Movies, and Art help me recharge in-between shifts at work. Despite the fact I’m here to connect to others, anxiety sometimes disrupts jolly conversations.

I see Bethesda is still trying to make Starfield a thing. Huh, still skeptical AF about it because of how mid and broken the game was on launch. I don't think they're the studio who could do what Hello Games did.

In what order do you build your sandwiches?? 🥪

3…2…1… go!

WanderingInDigitalWorlds,
@WanderingInDigitalWorlds@mstdn.games avatar

@britt I often start with leafy greens first, putting my deli meat on next in a pattern to hold those greens in place. Next it’s cheese and finally I put the spread on the bread and finish the assembly! I don’t cut my sandwiches as my sandwiches are easy to hold and chow down on.

This State of Decay 3 interview during the Xbox Games Showcase gives me hope for this game! Obsidian and Undead Labs working together to make their game great is awesome to read about.

I watched the new Avowed Story Trailer, the game is looking good! I’ve always loved Obsidian’s storytelling style, can’t wait to get my hands on this game (after reading reviews).

I might look and see what other game trailers were dropped after work.

The latest episode of Black Butler- Public School Arc sent me! A character that I longed to return has, in the most stylish way possible. The plot is moving on along in a hurry, and I love that for this anime! It's not a sloppy hurry, more like a 'we know what we are doing, so let's take you there' kind of way.

Before bed this morning, I tried out via Proton 9.0-1, and it ran smoothly! So happy that I can continue playing this game, as it's cute, creepy, and funny. A problem that I am seeing is that my save is gone, starting over isn't too difficult in this game.

It's been so long that I don't quite remember everything that I did in the game.

@WanderingInDigitalWorlds@mstdn.games avatar

Out of all the Linux versions I tried on Steam; Stardew Valley and Terraria were the only ones that didn't need the Proton Compatibility Layer being forced on. With Proton, Slay the Spire and Apico ran so damn smooth! All of them worked well with my controller like expected!

I am going to try some more games before going to bed, as today is going to be the start of 3 days on.

Nearly at the Galaxy Center, the Euclid Galaxy is too far away! I will have to build a base there for convenient travel. The fact I never built a base there meant I believed that I would never go back there. Such a foolish choice!

I'm going to try some games on Linux since the Euclid jump session wore my brain out!

I finished the Adrift Expedition! It was pretty fun; I’m disappointed that I couldn’t bring the tattered, no crew Freighter with me. I would’ve loved to roam around the cosmos with that awesome ship.

I suppose it’s time slowly jump back to the Euclid Galaxy to get Starbirth done!

I am accidentally rushing through the latest expedition in No Man's Sky due to excitement! I might finish it tonight before bed because the objectives are getting easier to complete. Furthermore, I liked the desolation of Adrift and finding only ruin in place of civilization.

Part of me wishes for this to be a game mode that one could play in No Man's Sky!

The only reason I am taking a break is that my body is complaining and desires food; Otherwise, I'd be playing more.

Wow, the fact it took everyone making a stink about Recall for them to do the right thing is telling! Microsoft should've known better than to be stupidly bold and feel self-assured about an invasive feature being on by default.

Still won't go back to Windows, as they might be sneaky as fuck about something else which compromises my system's security.

I'm happy on Ubuntu, so Microsoft can kick rocks for all I care. ROFL

Do you agree with Michael Moorcock, who said: "Ignore all proffered rules and create your own, suitable for what you want to say"?

I feel he has said something profound, after reading his works; he ignored the things which would've made his stories stale but embraced that which makes them great reads!

There is a balance between accepting the rules which make sense and ignoring those which are constraining the creative vision that lives within. He was a maverick.

Played No Man's Sky for a while today! Adrift is a fun expedition that has milestones that aren't too difficult to accomplish. Task variety isn't boring, I'm glad they put a lot of thought into this expedition.

After taking a short break, I'll jump back into Adrift because I want to get more done in-game!

I’m actually feeling second-hand anxiety for Apple for next week. 😬

WanderingInDigitalWorlds,
@WanderingInDigitalWorlds@mstdn.games avatar

@tashen Would that be due to their partnering with OpenAI? I see that as a big reason to feel up in arms with Apple, they are falling for the techbro scam. A smarter Siri would be nice; However, they would do well to ditch a problematic OpenAI because some of their leaders are sussy as hell.

Personally, I would feel anxiety for Apple due to that; also not having a comprehensive iCloud version of Pages which could check grammar. That's just me, as a person who writes, I enjoy those tools.

WanderingInDigitalWorlds,
@WanderingInDigitalWorlds@mstdn.games avatar

@tashen If they make their OpenAI implementations opt-in it would go a long way to allay fears that Apple will be sloppy. Any feature that could harvest personal data and pose a security issue needs to be opt-in by default.

That could go a long way of setting a strong example for other corpos who have adopted a shove it in everything and don't care approach.

This is an amazing song, listening to ‘The Lovers of Life’ while washing my French Press. The poor thing is looking rough, a cheap enamel coating is rubbing off with careful handling.

I tried Pages in the iCloud and it's truly mediocre. Apple didn't even try to make a compelling product, and that's quite amusing to me. Google Docs, Microsoft, LibreOffice Writer are much better products than Apple's milquetoast offering.

With as much supposedly useful software they have, in a way, it's really lame that Apple hasn't been arsed to make Pages a great document writer/editor in iCloud or on one's iPhone. Seems like the Mac version has gotten the most love.

My eye exam is done and I picked out boring frames today. Still nearsighted AF, but this latest prescription will make my vision clearer. It is time to enjoy a long walk home!

After that, I foresee a session of No Man’s Sky because a hotfix for the Xbox version dropped this morning. Can't wait to be alone with those abominations in space!

Feeling fantastic about my experience with Ubuntu now; I'm adjusting to the use of a mix CLI and the graphical interfaces to get stuff done on the distro. Knowledge that I thought was lost is resurfacing, since my comfort zone is expanding again.

Installing more of my games and will be testing each one over time to see which performs well or poorly on Ubuntu 24.04.

Funnily enough, Microsoft only provides an Outlook.VCF file if you export passwords on iPhone into the iCloud. The VCF file was the one iCloud contact importer was capable of parsing.

When I first tried to import the basic ass CSV file into contacts via iCloud, it literally said, 'this file is trash, get me something better, peasant'. Like the god fearing dirt kneeler I am, I did. LMAO

I missed this little gem from the Cassandra of Video Games; The one who screams a foreseen truth before many do. Patterns of foul companies competing to be the shittiest of them all, pointed out in a crass and eloquent way. James Stephanie Sterling, if there is a God, I thank them for thee!

It's unsurprising that a shitty corporation like Konami would hire a team of hacks to remake a nuanced, mature game about trauma.

05 Have you ever dreamed about characters in your work?

All of my characters come from dreams or daydreams because the creative process for me is distilling those nightly and day imaginings into a coherent form.

I've had thousands of characters emerge from my dreaming mind, but very few see actualization on the page. I use mental alchemy to distill their essence and experiment with personality mixes until I get a character just right.
