I'm an Australian woman, based in Meanjin / Brisbane, but in love with Argentina. In a previous life, I was a Trans activist, runner, and RollerDerby player. Now that we are all "post" covid, I feel like I'm still somehow finding my feet, and working out what I want to keep from my old life, and what I want to add to it! I have the feeling I will never get a final answer :)

Like I know there are other queer folk around there a good number of us up here but somehow no one wants to talk or even interact with me so idk. I always thought because there was no other queer folk around thats y I had issues in the past but now I just think I'm very unlikely and undesirable really :/

A rear shot of me at Kedron conducting the first timer's welcome briefing. Could have done with a first timers first timers briefing of my own as I forgot to show them the course map and lucky the writing on the card was in large type as I didnt have my glasses. Anyway it was my 13th vollie credit, 220th run and a time of 23:59, first sub 24 since Aug last year.

i learned from that last post that there is apparently ceremonial maces in the UK and im sorry but i truly cannot take that seriously. if i was at a public event of some kind and i saw someone carry out a fancy ass mace id find it difficult not to start laughing so hard

@gavi If the family origin story is true, my surname came about because one or more of my ancestors used to make ceremonial (and possibly not so ceremonial) maces!

Back from my voice lesson, my new teacher is super lovely, she's one of those elder trans "mother hen" types (in a positive sense, hopefully you know what I mean by that.) She asked lots of insightful questions and critically when doing techniques and stuff she noticed when something changed that I liked and was delighted!!~

Already feel way more confident in my chances to improve things with her help, exciting stuff!~

I'm closing back in on a sub 30 minute parkrun.

My first ever parkrun after finishing Couch 2 5K was sub 30, and here I am nearly 10 years later, trying to get back to what I once achieved so easily when I first started!

The combined joys of aging, HRT, injury and pneumonia :P

All that said, I've given myself a new goal! I'll get back under 30 again within 6 months! Hopefully sooner than that, but this gives me space for life to get in the way like it is want to do!

Day 1 of Meta's Threads federating with the fediverse, and so far, it's business as usual here.

But maybe that's because we blocked them 6 months ago, when it became clear they were welcoming hate groups with open arms?

I am genuinely confused why people who would block any other instance with bigots and nazis decide to make an exception for a fucking mega corp?

@lilacdusk Firefox mobile doesn't really support PWAs. I used Waterfox (a firefox fork) to run the PWA

@ty @lilacdusk In all seriousness, from memory, Firefox installs a shortcut to the phone, rather than a PWA.

But I'm not sure whether that has changed recently or in nightlies etc
