I'm an Australian woman, based in Meanjin / Brisbane, but in love with Argentina. In a previous life, I was a Trans activist, runner, and RollerDerby player. Now that we are all "post" covid, I feel like I'm still somehow finding my feet, and working out what I want to keep from my old life, and what I want to add to it! I have the feeling I will never get a final answer :)

I'm not sure how I'm feeling about 3 Body Problem. I'm only 1 episode in, but so far, it feels like Interstellar to me. Which is to say, held up as an example of good "hard" sci fi, but in reality, not that...

Is that what the rest of 3 Body Problem is going to be like, or should I stick with it?

I played my first game of Final Girl today (a board game). Charlie, who looked like she could be the star of an action movie rather than a horror movie, and Gepetto, the puppet master with his evil puppet minions.

Lets just say, it didn't go well. Charlies little brother was killed in the big tent, and then victim after victim fell. Charlie took out several puppets, but eventually, puppets and puppet master ran out of victims and turned on Charlie. She took two minions out, but eventually, she fell to Gepetto himself.

Next time puppet man, next time!

I will never understand social media. Here and on lemmy, I made posts about what milk alternatives to put in coffee, and both locations blew up my timelines with replies!

Who knew this was the topic people were dying to talk about?

Edit - For what it's worth, as a result of bullying from the additive haters, I'm trying black coffee for a week or so and seeing how I go :P

One of the things I'm trying to think through as a is whether we want to federate with and . On one hand, it would be nice to be able to interface with people less familiar with the , on the other hand, I'm more wary of the way our instance data will be handled.

@tariq Threads actively houses hate groups... You wouldn't federate with any other instance that did that, so why make an exception for threads?

Coffee fedi, help me out.

I'm getting more and more milk/lactose intolerant as I get older, but lactose free milk is too sweet for me.

I don't sweeten my coffee, and even lactose free milk with no sweetener else makes my coffee too sweet.

So, what do I replace my milk with when I order coffee?

This morning, a scrub turkey broke in to my house, knocked shit everywhere in my kitchen, destroyed the guaze in the bathroom window and shat everywhere in my hall, including up the side of the walls.

It's a good thing I love birds, because that bird tested me...

Back from my gender doctor appointment, turns out my body is doing a GREAT JOB of absorbing the estradiol from the gel, my levels are 1154 pmol/L which is pretty high (750 pmol/L is usually considered "high") so I definitely don't need to increase my dose.

The doctor actually moved practices since I last saw her, and at the end of the appointment she said "I'm really glad you found where I'd moved to, I was hoping you'd come back to see me" and I had a lil' cry in the car before I came home because that's so sweet and I feel so cared for. ​:SoHeart:​

I also mentioned fedi because y'all make me feel so seen and that means a lot. Love you all!!~ ​:SoHeart:​
