Thanks for your really educational response. It makes a lot more sense how this happens. It seems a shame for private organizations to put any local political leaders in a place to veto an arts award.

@nitpicking Certainly. No issue here with following the law. I do take issue with holding a global art awards process in a locality where the government is widely known to be extremely censorious. Maybe tying it to a location at all is a flawed process, particularly in our globally connected world.

There’s some clarification on this situation in the comments in this post. (Although the Florida example is specious because Florida’s “Don’t Say Gay” law can only regulate official speech in a school setting. I've never seen the sources in my weather app in such disagreement. Depending on the forecast, they're predicting anything from a slush to a dusting of snow to a blizzard.

Apple Weather shows 1.38" of snow on Wednesday, 2.84" of snow on Thursday, and 8.81" of snow on Saturday followed by 4.37" of snow on Sunday. In other words, it's a @#$%ing blizzard.
Accuweather shows 1.2" of snow on Thursday and moderately cold and dry for quite a few days.
OpenWeather is predicting light snow for a week.

Paramount+ is now entirely useless if you use a pihole to block New Relic, Doubleclick, and Braze. You literally can't watch the shows you paid for without providing minute-by-minute viewership data to multiple ad platforms.
