Feeling a little disheartened by my first one star โ€œItโ€™s not free!โ€ style App Store review. Does anyone have any tips or examples of diplomatic responses to these? I feel like the free tier is pretty generous ๐Ÿ˜”

@jamesthomson @beccaowen I second this completely, you should respond to that review as this will show that you care, that your product has value and that there is a (single) human behind this. Explain what they get for free, explain that you put work in this and plan to have a sustainable product because you want to help people with your product. This will make others connect to your app and your motivation.

@christianselig How is that speed even possible?! 10 finger typing? Never learnt that. But since I do not think that fast most of the time, I guess my typing speed is not the bottleneck ๐Ÿ˜…

@christianselig True, I actually use speech to text when Iโ€˜m โ€žwritingโ€œ my journal because itโ€™s faster. ๐Ÿ˜… The majority of thoughts I need to write down are a bit more complex though.. But Iโ€˜ll keep improving my typing, it definitely helps๐Ÿ™‚

Using AI was a first step of getting a nice visual for my premium screen. But it never felt like what I really envisioned.

I wanted the bedroom scene lighting to be animatable โ€“ because in the end, this is what my app does: Turning on lights, fading their brightness and changing their color over time to match a natural sunrise in the morning.

This is why I looked for a 3d designer to re-create the scene and I am so happy with the result! ๐Ÿคฉ

New intro screen showing a bedroom scene. The lighting of the bedroom fades in starting with a dark, warm reddish temperature and while swiping through the intro, starts brightening up. 7 different lights as well as the blinds are getting animated over the course of the intro.

@sindresorhus Impressive! Whatโ€™s your tooling around publishing a new app? Are you using fastlane? What about all the metadata, screenshots, etc.? I guess you automated a lot of it or are you actually handcrafting everything?
