I've never set a foot in Berlin (yet!) but many of my friends are Berliners, and I'm seeing a lot of events I would like to attend there.

Berlin looks like a very attractive city with a healthy culture. With sleeper trains back in service between Paris and Berlin, I'll have to visit more often!

I really need to automate this somehow, but my latest estimate is 3.13 million active users of Flathub!

This is a number of updates delivered to a popular dependency, org.freedesktop.Platform.GL.default//23.08, between the 23.08.14 and 23.08.15 releases. This was less than a month window (March 18 through April 9).

Pretty impressive stuff!

What if "software repair" was a system feature?

Every app comes with its source and flatpak manifest, and there's a "Repair" button in the window context menu that opens it in Builder.

When you're done with your repair it's easy to set a different name/icon (so it shows up as a separate app in the system), install it locally, or share it as a flatpak bundle.

Finally landed a bunch of changes in JSON-GLib that I've been working off and on for the past three months, mainly dealing with proper JSON conformance.

Had to undo a lot of generic/extensible code in the tokeniser I lifted out of GLib, in order to get to a decent state; I've also added a whole conformance test suite to ensure that we don't deviate (too much) from RFC8259.

Can't wait to see bugs getting filed because the parser got stricter.

one thing I learned from porting firefox away from a 10 year old deprecated GTK API, is that there are real people with setups worse than chatgpt could ever hallucinate about and a gazillion regressions for otherwise fixed problems.

Like this thing works fine on Cent OS 7, but not a the custom gentoo install with no cursor themes at all or Xcursros even.

Or for the other 5 people still using a bitmap cursor theme that was last updated 19 years ago.

I finally figured out how to fix the bluetooth stack on linux and it's pretty simple.

We just need to find an excuse to make systemd-bleutoothd.

Something like creating an OTP token on the computer and attesting the state with a separate device over the system over bluetooth or similar excuse.
