@lowqualityfacts There's this little known loophole though, that if you turn 65 before becoming a great-grandmother you can still retire.

the stevelang specification is this toot long, and already it has the shortest hello world.

@interfluidity Not an expert, but I reckon that mid is a basic trying to be based, making it cringe.

    @RickiTarr The average is heavily weighted by child mortality though. So the majority of women who made to adulthood probably lived long enough to experience menopause.

    There's actually some interesting theories about post-menopausal women being particular targets of witch hunts, because they didn't fit into the neat gender roles any more.

    There were a few Twitter accounts I used to follow via Nitter, and when that stopped working I just found sources of the same information elsewhere. The same is happening now that YouTube is cracking down on Invidious. It’s not pushing me to YouTube, it’s pushing me to related podcasts, blogs and other written media.

    brecht,
    @brecht@social.coop avatar

    @jiewawa I still manage to just about follow a few accounts using https://nitter.privacydev.net. That instance seems to have added its own rate limiting system preventing it from getting banned, but that also means it only works about 50% of the time. But once it stops working completely, I'm completely done following any Twitter accounts just like you.

    Why are there no good domain registrars

    brecht,
    @brecht@social.coop avatar

    @pojntfx @drewdevault They were decent enough, until they got acquired and started doubling prices. (As far as I can see, they're doing it slowly, one TLD at a time, so you might not have been affected. Yet.)

    Hey folks, I just released Auto Encrypt Localhost* v8.4.0 with better async support and updated dependencies.

    https://www.npmjs.com/package/@small-tech/auto-encrypt-localhost

    • My pure JavaScript module (no mkcert, certutil, etc., required) that automatically provisions and installs locally-trusted TLS certificates for Node.js https servers.

    (There seems to be an issue with tests failing on macOS, will debug that tomorrow and likely post a patch release.)

    brecht,
    @brecht@social.coop avatar

    @serapath @aral There are a couple of newer browser APIs that require HTTPS to work, even on localhost. Not 100% which exactly, but I think service workers might be one?

    brecht,
    @brecht@social.coop avatar

    @serapath @aral Hm I did run into an edge case a while ago that needed HTTPS on localhost, but struggling to remember what exactly. Some weirdness with iframes maybe?
