The beef in red wine casserole has been nurdling away since 11am this morning in the slow cooker.

Starting to get the smells wafting through the house now... another couple of hours and it'll be ready.

    If you are wondering about how bad tracking across the web has become. Here's a simple tip for you.

    On android devices, install and enable tracking protection.

    It works as a web browser and search engine. But it can also block app tracking.

    The images below show the app I use for my solar/battery system.

    It's been grabbing 28 separate bits of tracking data from my phone without my knowledge or consent.

    This is an unacceptable invasion.

    Dammit... why the fuck can't anything be simple.

    Replacement CPU arrived, and now the system won't post.

    I'm assuming it's because I need a BIOS update on this B450 board to make it work with the 5600G CPU.

    To do that... I NEED to have a CPU installed.

    Which now means I've got to strip down another system, borrow the 3300X CPU from it just to make this one post so I can update the fucking BIOS. Can't strip down my system as that's a 5800X3D, an even newer CPU.

    It's been a long day as we've been putting together our Christmas window at the shop and this album is just what I need right now.
    It's been an odd week here on Mastodon for me. Almost a year since I joined and all I've encountered on here has been kind, until this week when I've had people questioning what I choose to post. Given that it's only been landscape photos and cooking related music I really don't get the issue! If you don't like it then don't follow me. Simple.

    Fucking YT now starting with popups that actually threaten rather than just annoy.

    I don't even "monetise" any of the things I upload on there but they still slap ads on them anyway, without my blessing, so they're already getting fucking money out of me by force.

    Firefox, ublock origin, noscript, ghostery, privacy badger, https everywhere... are the main things I use. Not had a warning yet and I block everything, everywhere.

    If the ad industry hadn't become so toxic and insidious... none of this would be needed.

    But I'll never stop blocking everything, if a site doesn't work. I go somewhere else.

    Nuke it from orbit, it's the only way to be sure.

    Whilst I do most of my main shopping with larger chains... For little stuff, I try to support local businesses. So cafes, butchers and so forth.

    hard to do in a small town with a pretty dead high street.

    It had no major chains on it for food/drink until last week... when a Dominos was opened.

    Morons sent out leaflets for special opening offers that expired on 29th Oct... We received them on the 1st Nov.

    Great way to lose business before you start.

    Alice in Chains, Pearl Jam, Soundgarden to name just a few.

    Loved their first 2-3 albums and then kinda stopped listening to them.

    Yup, Ten & VS for Pearl Jam with me. Mostly 'Dirt' for Alice in Chains. Core and Purple for Stone Temple Pilots. Throwing Copper by Live, Sixteen Stone by Bush, Infernal Love by Therapy. Pablo Honey & The Bends by Radiohead.

    There's a load of 80's goth bands too... but not The Cure or The Cult. I will listen to everything they release.
