Just a guy, on the spectrum with a tendency towards creating uncomfortable silences and the odd social faux pas.

Originally from as far from the sea as you can get in England, now living near the coast in a part of Wales.

I will randomly comment on your toots, I will be attempting jokes, sarcasm, dark humour & obscure pop culture references.

If ever there was a valid point to tell you that credit scores are worthless and are nothing more than an indication of how much interest lenders can get out of you... it when you are told that your credit score has dropped because you are using over 50% of your credit on one of your accounts... whilst at the same time telling that it's very positive that you are using less than 10% of your credit.

Whilst also punishing you for daring to move and register on the electoral roll somewhere else.

Whilst out the most Northerly tip of Angelsey today, just outside Cemas. The weather was so clear, you could see all the way across to the Isle of Man and the hills/mountains near Douglas and Castletown.

Met some locals from Cemas who said that they can't remember the last time they could see across that far.

Not a great shot with a pixel 6 pro camera... It's days like this I wish I had my Pentax X5 bridge camera on me. I really should keep it in the car again.

The view on the way home about 4pm today after a lovely long 4hr lunch.

I should have stopped on the way there at noon, because the sun was shining directly on them without any of the shadows, and It felt like there was more snow than there is now.

In the last months of the 2,022nd year Earth Common Era, was led to the Mastodon herd by a werewolf from Melbourne, where they climbed up onto the thick matted wool of a beast affectionately known as AusSocial.
Dgar gripped onto the coat and screamed “Hello World!” No one except the werewolf heard.
Dgar began exploring, moving over the beast. So many interesting personalities, such diversity, and although no one seemed to notice them, Dgar noticed the inhabitants. They were being… nice to each other. Courteous and understanding of differing views and perspectives. Dgar was a bit weirded out, but continued to explore.

Explore.

Suddenly the view opened up and Dgar saw the herd for the first time. Beasts just like AusSocial, but all different in their own ways, stretching to the horizons, as far as the eye could see. And there weren’t just Mastodons either. There were all kinds of beasts, all carving out their own little niche. Someone behind whispered “That’s the Fediverse.” Dgar felt the presence of millions of people, working together, competing, evolving, developing… and despairing.

Dgar wandered from feed to feed, community to community, and slowly began to realise that almost everyone was talking about the same things.

Billionaires ruined some place that wasn’t anywhere near as good as where they are right now.
The depressing state of politics and the media that supports it.
Despair over misinformation and the people who believe it.
Gun control.
Climate change.
Natural disasters.
War. Murder. Disease.
Stop!

There’s no jokes.
There’s no shitposting.
There’s no laughter.
There’s lots of love and understanding, but when you look for something funny, there’s a few people asking “Where are all the jokes and shitposters?”

Dgar resolved to fill this niche, and began tooting every joke they could find. For several months, they tooted a joke or meme every twenty minutes while they were awake, and as often as possible while they were asleep. They would traverse great distances, well beyond the herd, to sift through what at times seemed like piles of refuse to find puns and funnies.
After some time, Dgar became known for the funny toots, and many people followed them.

Today, like most days, Dgar climbed up to take in the view of the herd, and a giant smile broke upon his face. There were jokes. There were memes. There were terrible puns. The toots emanating from the very top of AusSocial were light hearted and humorous takes.
It was beautiful.

And so Dgar finds themselves re-considering their place in the community. Does the Fediverse need Dgar to lift their spirit with stolen jokes, old puns, and scavenged memes?
Maybe.
But maybe not so much.

Perhaps the 2,024th year Earth Common Era will be the year Dgar begins concentrating on what Dgar loves.
Making music.

Thank you all for your support. Big love to each and every one of you. ♥️

No snow on the ground here, but there is snow on the mountains 30 miles away.

Just a reminder that if the punishment for a crime is nothing more than a monetary 'fine'

Then that law only exists to punish the poor.

Hello to the new followers recently.

If you're wondering what I do on here... it's mostly shitposting things I find funny.

Amusing musings, strange shower thoughts I don't have in the shower, attempts at humour that are weird and obscure and lots of obscure pop culture, movie, tv and music references that I spend ages crafting for 2 people to like. 😆

There's mocking those that let food go cold for a pic.

occasional posts about the & systems I have

I love the English language, mostly I love it's contradictions and quirks that make it amusing.

But whoever came up with the word for a fear of palindromes is truly evil.

It's called aibohphobia.

It's a fucking palindrome.

You bastard... you utter bastard... you're also a genius... an evil genius.

🤣 😆

Vegan: You should stop eating meat to help the environment

Me: You should stop eating avocado to help the environment

Vegan: Don't be stupid

Me: Avocado is one of the most water intensive crops to grow. It's grown almost exclusively in water scarce areas of the planet. It does more harm than good.

Me: Plus it tastes like rancid soap

Vegan putting fingers in ears: LALALALALALALALA I can't hear you, murderer.

And that's just one reason the world hates sanctimonious preachy arseholes.

If at first you don't succeed...

Try

Try

Try

not to spiral into the self loathing you've been conditioned to feel by a system that promotes unobtainable goals and then extracts profits from your misery and insecurities.

As the site was down for me all of yesterday... I couldn't post a for you.

So today is a as it's yesterdays dinner of minty lamb chop, roast potatoes, honey roast carrots, parsnips and some marrowfat peas.

Whilst today is beer battered cod, chunky chips and onion rings with a dollop of mayo/ketchup. I was going to add some mushy peas, but this is already a large enough meal for me.

If I make any kind of new years resolution at all.

It's to reduce my use of chains that drain money from local economies as much as possible.

I can't do much about my food shopping as there simply aren't good enough local markets around here.

But I can and do already shun chains like coffee places and fast food. Support local business, don't set foot in a costa, starbucks or McD's. You're only helping them remove money from your local economy and helping to destroy high streets.

A new year, a new month and that means time again.

Nothing good. Weather was awful so as you can see in pic one, we generated just 70kwh of electric the entire month.

But that's still just over 2kwh per day. Which is still about 18% of our use.

As for import, we imported 320kwh of electric for the month.

Total use for the month on the whole house was just 382kwh and we even exported a few kwh.

It's stopped raining here finally.

But that also means arseholes will be letting of fireworks in a few hrs.

As for me... I'm about to quaff some pain meds and go to bed.

Have a good one folks... thanks for all the giggles this year. here's to a load more social faux pas on my end and lot's of innuendo both intended and unintended.

We made it through another year in one piece. Yay for us.

PS, I remembered I have Toblerones

Just cancelled my Amazon prime renewal that was due on the 16th.

They sell dangerous cheap chinese ripoff garbage because brands have abandoned the site entirely.

The reviews are 90% fake and often for entirely different items because sellers can swap out what they sell and keep their reviews.

Prime video isn't worth watching and they're about to start pushing ads at you during tv/movies unless you pay them extra.

Fuck the enshitification of everything.

The only way to win is not to play

You'll be seeing lots of posts from people saying/boasting what they achieved in 2023.

In case anyone needs to hear it... it's ok if all you did this year was get through it... You made it, good job.

Storm is hitting hard right now. Hailstones, thunder and probably lightning ⚡⚡⚡ but blinds are drawn and I'm warm and cosy in bed for the night now.

This is a question for non-linguists. Please don't use Google to answer, just guess or if you have the knowledge already, go ahead and answer:

How many languages do you suppose are spoken on Earth currently?

anomnomnomaly,

@Adam_Cadmon1 thousands... More than 5k, less than 10k

I mean there are hundreds of not a thousand or more of indigenous dialects alone just across the African continent.

Once you start adding up countries, continents and regional variants within each... It's gotta be over 5k

Does anyone else find it weird that a woman lied over 2 thousand years ago about how she got pregnant and now I get to have some new socks and a toblerone every December.

Remember folks, if Santa asks if you've been naughty or nice this year. Always say 'Am I under arrest?' If he answers no, then say 'So I'm free to go then?'

Just got back into 2. What have I done?

anomnomnomaly,

@FreiGuy86 Forgotten what a grindfest it is?

anomnomnomaly,

@FreiGuy86

I think I've become immune to grinding games... I'll try one and as soon as it starts to feel grindy. I lose all interest.

It's one of the reasons I only play single player games now. I can't be doing with MP at all, my reflexes aren't good enough to make it fun and the griefers and smacktards ruin the fun for people trying to learn anything.
