I'm testing out https://highvoltagecoffee.com.au/ because I can no longer get my preferred supplier reliably. I can't believe the amount of crema these beans made. I didn't know my machine could produce so much.

On first taste it's fairly good. I think I may prefer it over Killer or Supreme.

Fake LastPass app sneaks past Apple's review team.

This is a rare occurrence in Apple's walled garden hence it being newsworthy. In Android I get people at work asking me "which blah app" all the time due to the number of imposters.

I started playing a movie in Plex on my AppleTV and my Philips Hue lights suddenly dimmed to my HomeKit “Movie” scene, and I can’t remember if this is a new setting I enabled somewhere or not. If so, I can’t remember where it is. But I do love it.

This is what Oppenheimer (2023) looks like on IMAX. Well, IMAX film.

It's so long (11 miles long) it almost didn't fit in IMAX projectors.

Push headline "Australians tipping habbits are failing to keep up wiht rising restaurant prices".

WHO THE FUCK TIPS IN AUSTRALIA? Don't we pay our staff living wages so you don't have to? So it's purely a gratuity rather than a way for them to survive?

Please don't normalise the American tipping system here. It's horrible. Normalise living wages.

Just realised all the accounts I follow via bird.makeup are no longer visible from aus.social? It's a choice to follow them, I don't get why we've been denied?

I missed any announcement with a reason (if there even was one), could someone give me the cliffs notes as to why?

I love how right now the cool thing on Mastodon is to be opposed to self checkouts at supermarkets.

Meanwhile I'm just here using the self checkouts at any opportunity I can get, still going "yay I don't have to interact with anybody!"

Oh, and sticking googly eyes over the end-user facing cameras.

Lachlan Murdoch has endorsed Tony Abbott to join the Fox Corp (US) board of directors.

Talk about actively trying to sink your own company. JFC. 😂🤣

Listening to the James Bond: License to Podcast special mission episode where they cover Star Wars: Attack of The Clones (they finished all the James Bond movies so moved on to special missions of other movie series).

I'm seriously considering doing a Star Wars Movie Marathon some time soon.

(1/5) I'm voting yes and I'm asking others to vote yes as well.

One way I've had the described to me, is that it gives Aboriginal people the same type of access to see early drafts of policies and provide feedback on them, that lobbyists have. Without having to pay for access.

I find this an absolutely wonderful thing for Aboriginal people to get. If this description is accurate, then I absolutely support it.

It's that time of the year where the Oscars nominations have been announced. Here's the Best Picture nominations and my thoughts.

American Fiction - Never heard of it?
Anatomy of a Fall - Not out in AU yet.
Barbie - Loved it, but best picture?
The Holdovers - Never heard of it?
Killers of the Flower Moon - Currently it for me.
Maestro - Skipped because not a fan of biographicals.
Oppenheimer - Good directing, cinematography, scripting & acting, but never felt a single thing for any character at all. The entire first 2/3 of the movie you could go for a pee break and not miss anything vital. Just a bunch of stuff happening.
Past Lives - Only heard of it when awards season came around.
Poor Things - Loved it, but best picture?
The Zone of Interest - Never heard of it? 📽️

Damn. Amazon just canned one of the better sci-fi shows it’s done in recent years. SO much better than Citadel, Wheel of Time, The Power, etc. https://variety.com/2023/tv/news/the-peripheral-canceled-amazon-season-2-renewal-1235700019/

Toyota's claiming Australia needs more time for an electric car move.

IMHO we just need the rollout of charging stations to continue, if not increase. Continue working towards making them as prolific as petrol stations if not moreso. Especially number of "pumps".

This is especially important for those who street park or are in unit blocks that can't add electric points to every parking spot.

All it's doing to me is driving me off these platforms.

What is wrong with people that they actually engage more?

I watch a lot of dashcam vids (mostly DCOA). A not insignificant number of crashes are caused by someone "being courteous" as opposed to following the right-of-way laws.

Follow right-of-way. Be courteous ONLY within right-of-way rules or when there's grey zones about who has right-of-way. Never be courteous in ways that go against right-of-way rules. https://xkcd.com/2932/

Windows just tried to turn off outlook notifications because I haven't interacted with them for a while.

MOST OF THE TIME THE POINT OF THE NOTIFICATION IS THE NOTIFICATION ITSELF!!!

What is with OS makers? iOS prompts me about this too. Stop being so needy. Not everything needs interaction.
