Reddit is totally pulling a Twitter.

I'd say a Reddit client is at least technically possible, unlike Twitter, but pricing would have to be around $10/month which really reduces the # of users that would be willing to pay to where it may just not be financially viable.

The ants on the Planet of the Ants are similar to earth ants, but this is convergent evolution at an extreme- distant paths to a similar pattern rather than familial relation. The exoskeletons of the ants are much stronger than the chitin of earth insects, due to a mutation that unleashed huge insects on their planet long ago-- resulting in a very different evolutionary history. Would love to have some sources about just how chemistry/structure of chitin might be altered to make this possible--

Sci-fi inciting incident idea.

A new technology allows us to visualize radio signals as expanding bubbles in space, that is, to intercept radio frequencies over vast areas, so naturally we scan the stars.

We discover that a massive portion of the galaxy is covered in an amorphous blob of white noise. The blob has no center and unclear boundaries. 1/

@pontulo @futurebird I could see it being where those running either zip up to near light speed, or do some sort of cryo sleep. Which I assume makes for interesting times for those that lost.

Also, how is the current government run? Do they get up to near ftl speeds, and govern for decades?

If there is an emergency, they slow down to real time?

Fun idea.
