@nixCraft I think Gnome is really nice for intuitive setups, but KDE is my favourite, because of all those features and customisations (and KDE Connect) :nkoHehe:
@nixCraft Sway, Gnome (Cosmic) and KDE, I tend to run a couple of applications in fullscreen on different (virtual) workspaces and configure the same keys on all to easily and quickly switch between them, love it this way. Works fine on all and I really have no real preference, although I must say Sway is really fast, but then again not that polished out of the box.
@nixCraft I really liked GNOME 2. Daily drove it on Debian back in the either Jessie or Wheezy days, so idk... 2015ish? But what they're calling GNOME now? Not for me.
@nixCraft
I never touched KDE again since KDE4 as it was terrible and unusable. Lag here, crash there. Then I used GNOME3 for a while and it's key board driven approach suited me very well and made me use the mouse a lot less and finally I moved to tiling WMs.
So GNOME >> KDE
As my eyesight has deteriorated with age, I find KDE much harder to read/comprehend.
The icons all look the same and are either too small or indistinguishable, list order in the settings with it's alternating blue and white offset lines is utterly confusing, and in general the settings are confusing with deeply embedded, not easy to find options.
So I switched to Gnome and it's far more legible in every way.
