our orthodontist society is out of control. messed up teeth add character. barring health issues: it's societally-imposed vanity. i will still kiss even the most f$&ked up of teeth mouths.

[12] 10 Things I Hate About You is a romantic comedy targeted toward the teen demographic. In essence, it’s William Shakespeare’s “The Taming of the Shrew” retold with a ‘90s high school backdrop. It features a young Heath Ledger as the leading man and Julia Stiles as “the shrew” to be “tamed.” But who’s really being tamed here? It’s really a charming film full of witty dialog, excellent performances, and a great soundtrack.

The greatest MMORPGs blind you to the fact that they are stealing your time and money via tedious gameplay mechanics by making you feel totally immersed in a world that's better than real life.

need more "ads" for my magazine. there are a few criteria:

  1. passion projects
  2. not purely selling something

examples:

  • writing blogs
  • free artistic efforts
  • opensource software stuff
  • music
  • etc.

another example, let's say you make music and that music is on bandcamp ... if you provide the music for free but have the option to buy a CD or vinyl or whatever = that's OK. however, if it is purely a pitch to SELL something = not OK.

(OK as in, something i will put in the magazine)

would you like to participate in a focused magazine about nostalgia? do you have a personal connection to any of these games? if so, would you like to write a short piece about it?

bro just read all these books and you'll be CEO of your own company in no time bro like dude it's all here in the books bro.

("monk mode" like a monk would ever read a book about revenue growth; that is antithetical to anything-even-tangentially-monk-related.

this guy should rename his cheat sheet to "how to make @buru5 commit seppuku.")

as of today, oncomputer.games is moving to a subscription model. all content on my site will be behind a paywall. if you have viewed any of my content in the past, you will be billed retroactively. this may seem extreme, but it's all to provide you, my loyal readers, with even more insightful gamer content. thank you for your understanding.

do Pokemon, monsters, and other virtual beasts truly enjoy being captured and battled against other creatures? is this an ethical way to treat these creatures who can't properly communicate with their masters? is it ok to force them to breed together? do they seem happy when they're trailing behind me in a coffin? can i eat them?

and, yes, they're computer games.

regardless and irregardlessly regardlessness we will be discussing this at length within the next month or so.

They Shoot Horses, Don't They? directed by Sydney Pollack.

set during the great depression and centers around a group of monetarily-jinxed people who enter a dance marathon with the premise of "the last person to stop dancing wins $1,500." the whole thing is based on a book from 1935 that i haven't read, and predates and predicts western-society's obsession with reality television & gameshows; highlighting the exploitative life-sucking nature of it all.

lots of dancing and death.

I have it on good authority that "Switch 2" (named the "Swipe") is a card-based console with a card reader built into the unit. The cards, once swiped, unlock access to: full games, wallpapers, avatars, DLC, and even apps like Hulu, YouTube, and Netflix. The Swipe will be released by the end of Q2 2025, alongside over 200 cards purchased separately in booster packs.

One of the neat things about this is that, if you still have old e-Reader cards, you can swipe them for fun extras.

was at an "adult function" and video games came up and it's always so awkward. after this guy went on about Helldivers 2 and Palworld, he asked me: "what do you play?" and i was all, like, "uhh ... hmmm .. ermm..." and he was eyeing me very curiously and then i said: "uh well actually i don't play video games" and made some excuse to leave the area.
