Everyone talks about using ChatGPT/DALL-E to generate logos, no one talks about having to convert them to decent vector files...

@deshipu you're right... I should make a new business that converts webp to SVG! Hold on I'll ask ChatGPT to get me a logo for that...

Any GOOD alternatives to Designer?

The whole point is to avoid subscription models unfortunately. Plus it's bloated af I need something usable that works fast

@krinkle It's all fun & games but honestly we already used CSS plain files/semantically in 2006. It doesn't scale to multiple people on an org. It becomes impossible to maintain and bloats up. TW however is easy to figure out even after you haven't seen the code in 2 years. Your worst enemy is past you! :)

I agree with the idea, but I've never really seen it work irl, especially not with smaller companies that need to move fast and not everything is always predictable.

Honestly blown away by the renaissance happening right now, I had no idea :D I was just trying to get back to catching up on interesting news without relying on algorithmic feeds... And Looks like many people agree! I think more apps and services will start to show up

Does anyone use Readers here? What are your favorite features? What are you missing?
I'm trying to make an RSS reader that doesn't compromise on UX or features, and looks good.

    Would love your feedback!

@manualdousuario NetNewsWire truly is great; I wish I could use it myself, but I have a quirky use-case that isn't covered: I run + , and sync my stuff on

Didn't find that combo support on any app I liked, so I decided to make my own :)

Hey all #webdev's out there, please stop making grids of items with huge hover-pop-up things when there is so little space between them there is no where for my mouse to go while I scroll. I want to look at the grid, not look at 40% of the grid while some huge pop up covers the rest while I'm just trying to scroll. :pepe_ree:

@wagesj45 Blame the UI/UX designers, we just do what we're told!

thoughts on split button menus? what's the behaviour you expect and why? 🤔

trigger the clicked action immediately, or change the state of the button?

    https://github.com/microsoft/vscode/issues/192379

    casraf,
    @casraf@fosstodon.org avatar

@hbons Definitely prefer changing the button state than immediately activating the effect, for these reasons:

    1. Confirmation - to be sure you want to activate it now, especially for "destructive" actions
    2. Some button states might change a leading or trailing form element, for example resetting a form field or removing irrelevant fields
    3. Maybe there need to be extra warnings or caveats to consider, I would expect to be able to see them before my selection is final [...]
