Every so often, I check my follow list for "dummy accounts."

A "dummy account" is someone who joined, but never posted or even replied to any comment, ever.

I don't necessarily remove inactive accounts. Only those that have never truly been a part of Mastodon, beyond singing up.

I also remove the few accounts that joined Mastodon, just so they could promote their other social media account on Twitter, Facebook, Threads, or Blue Sky.

I then share my block list. -- Doing my purge now

I wish Mastodon would release on a consistent schedule ( with the exception of security updates of course)
I know you can schedule the updates whenever you want...but still if you want to stay up with the current version it would be less disruptive :fiercesmol: :Footflicks:

The LOL is strong with some people. 🤣

Outside of work, in my free time (isn't much these days), I help mod a few local Facebook groups.

One of them was filled with spam at one point (things that slip past the system).

Simple new rule, if you're going to promote your business for free in the public group, you need to be verifiably local. Otherwise, go buy an ad from Facebook, we're doing you the favor, giving you a free space.

I was working at a small-to-medium-sized IT/ company that had a few internal products, but mostly did outsourced R&D work for a behemoth company - one of the largest on the planet at the time.

It was classic planning. HugeCo's R&D department would send us a high-level .

NEW: Food prices in Europe have been soaring. Earlier this year, the Austrian government said it would build a price database to let people compare costs at different supermarkets. It said this would take months to make and only include a small number of product categories.

Within 2 hours, @badlogic had built a first prototype, pulling the data from supermarket's websites, and open sourced the project. Now Heisse Preise lists 177,000 products from 10 chains.

The transparency has allowed prices to be compared: and the results appear to show supermarkets are watching each other and adjusting their prices based on others. The competition authority is investigating and already said new laws should make supermarkets publish proper APIs with full item data

Hallo friends. Skye is helping me look at a canned spaghetti sauce recipe as we have a couple of tomatoes (see 2nd pic). 🍅 The big red ones are not pictured, there are about 30 more. BunMum will sort and organize tomorrow. Had to get them in as it’s a killing frost tonight.

Sewer line update: Project manager said wait on the crack and 2nd sag - save up (ha) and we will do a camera check next year. He felt so sorry for us he gave us $500 off, which was very kind and kept it with tax to $17,000.

Tons of tomatoes are scattered haphazardly on a sheet, needing further sorting. A temporary location due to a killing frost tonight.

@Satori I can vouch that the sauce is the best I’ve ever had. So fresh and tasty…not like the canned or jarred stuff you get from the store.

What happened to the install instructions for 4.2? I went to the git page to find them so I could install on my test server.I see "scroll down to the upgrade instructions section" There's nothing there. Is there someplace else to get the instructions? Honestly the release section is a bit of a mess

@mcdanlj why are there 3.x releases mixed up with the 4 ones? That's what I mean.
I did find the instructions...had to click the "latest" button to get the full non truncated version. Not sure how I was supposed to know that.
