"Smiling Girl, a Courtesan, Holding an Obscene Image."
One of my favorite paintings, seen at St Louis Art Museum during a recent visit. Just love the expression on her face, and the humanity embodied in her presence. An oil painting on canvas by Gerard van Honthorst, created in 1625.

At Drekker Brewery in , they had bricks from demolition, so they created an interesting cementless courtyard wall.

The work on the park in Pelican Rapids appears to be complete. The dam replaced by rapids, Pelican Pete freshly painted, a new pedestrian bridge across river, and the former bottom of Mill Pond now grassy instead of muddy.

@lwbadger Thats quite an improvement. A friend of mine on the watershed board said that this was a major step toward restoring trout and sturgeon on the Ottertail river. And Pete isn't all rusty anymore.

Back in my college days, my go-to hangover treatment was an Arby's Giant roast beef sandwich, large curly fries and their largest Coke. Something about the combination of salt and caffeine, carbs and protein in that meal always made me feel better.
I don't abuse alcohol like that any more. But if I did, I'd head to straightway. Even though I never eat fast food, I'd make an exception for a hangover.
This is on my mind because one of my kids doesn't look so good this morning.

My biggest #gripe with #Mastodon is reach and the ability to discover stuff outside of chronological scrolling. Lists in #BlueSky make that better. Imho the algorithms in #Threads are too intrusive.

If there were simpler ways to connect with different topics on here it would make it excellent, to me at least. I guess it might come down to why you use different social media.

@Cstnskld I second hashtags. Fedilab lets me follow those I find interesting. Works well for me. When i find someone I like, I dive into their feed, often finding more interesting people thru their boosts.

With introducing which will screenshot your screen to monitor all activities on your device, this begs the question...

What distro will you be switching to?

I've been hunting for this specific typeface/font for ages, but can never find it. It was used for cinema light box/marquees in the UK in the 1960s-1980s. It's close to some of the usual suspects (Gill Sans, Human521, Futura, DIN, Century, etc ), but no cigar. Any ideas?

With every passing day, it seems more likely that there are only two outcomes for and Emanuel Reynoso: the Copetti, or the Rigoni.

@jmarthaler I'm not an expert on Designated Player rule, but how soon after they lance ReyNoShow could the Loons pick up a new DP, assuming they had someone in mind?

Built during the depression, it was too expensive to use the letter U in signage.

darren,
@darren@c.im avatar

@jd Fun fact. The letter U arrived in North America in 1945 with returning soldiers from the Italian war theater.
