Gumroad update...

Gumroad says they need my personal SSN because Stripe requires it.

Stripe says they don't for businesses that are corporations.

Waiting to see if Gumroad recognizes this.

I stopped by an Apple Store today to try the new iPad Pros. The screen is beautiful and the device felt incredibly light in my hands - until...

Until I tried one with the keyboard. Then the machine felt too heavy for me.

I don't currently use my keyboard that often and think if I get the 11" pro I would get the folio case, no keyboard, and I'd stick with the pencil I have.

My current is a 2018 11" iPad Pro

If you, like me, really disliked the glow / blooming on the M1/M2 iPad Pro display, you’ll be pleased to know it’s gone in the M4 🙌 I’m not sure how much it will be visible, but here’s a side by side comparison of new and old.

Second words, half a minute later: “that’s just absurdly thin.”

Third words, another half a minute later: “the new Magic Keyboard is so much nicer!” Thinner, lighter, better materials 🤩

This is a big upgrade 👍

Anyone out there a fan of air fryers?

Went to a dinner last night, folks were raving about their air fryers. This something worth exploring? A fad?

I'm particularly interested in cooking veggies, like broccoli, zucchini, etc. This better than roasting in an oven?

@davemark energy efficient is the most likely. I have an Anova countertop oven that I love that I use for air fryer recipes as well. I also don't have to work in batches

I don't have a ticket, but think I might head over for all the unofficial events. Don't know how many more WWDC's that I'll be on the same continent for so might as well!

It just struck me what Apple got wrong with its “crushing ad.”

They thought we would identify with the iPad, not the creative instruments and materials.

@glennf I think it would have had a whole different feel if we saw everything shrinking and not getting destroyed so the implication was "you get all this stuff in the new iPad" not "here's the stuff we're crushing and replacing with the new iPad"

One of the habits that stuck with me from the madness of 2020 is daily walks around the neighborhood.

I ended up befriending an elderly gentleman because I couldn't resist asking if I could pet his two cute dogs.

Both dogs have since passed away and I just found out that so did he a few days ago.

I wish I would have known that the last time I saw him was the last time I was going to see him.

This is my yearly reminder that while many celebrate today as a Star Wars holiday, for me May the 4th is first and foremost the anniversary of the day that National Guardsmen shot and killed four college students protesting at Kent State University.

This year it seems particularly important to remember.

@MuseumShuffle @DeepDishSwift Their Chicago mix is cheese corn and Carmel corn mixed together. I prefer to buy them separately and mix myself. They have a stand near the dinosaur skeleton in O'Hare. They also sell other flavors but those are my favorites.

Wake up to boil and bake bagels - it is so easy to have fresh bagels for breakfast. Just need to mix, knead, and shape the night before. 60% hydration 2% salt 1% yeast. So good.
