Nice to see that @himawari_wpac has been back up and posting for a while with no crashes. Not sure what caused the last crash exactly, but hope the error reporting is robust enough now that I'll be able to figure it out. #bots
#Fediverse growing pains: The smallish #PeerTube and #Funkwhale instances I use have gotten big enough that handling all of the data is starting to cause issues, slowdowns and whatnot. The reality of distributed/federated computing coming home to roost?
To be honest, the problem is a lot more pronounced with media sharing than with microblogging. I wonder if that's one reason why there's been a lot more proliferation of microblogging sites on Fedi versus media sharing sites - running your own instance involves a greater investment to handle streaming and storage.
Media storage is going to be an issue for #Pinetta too; it's a can that we've been kicking down the road for a while now.
Crossing this one off my "I've always wanted to do this" list: I got my fourteen-year-old single-player #Minecraft world running on a private Bukkit server so I could run DynMap (the dynamic map that you've seen on Bahaicraft videos). Finally, we can see the world in its fullest, most discontinuous glory.
Now the question is: Is it finally time to move @blackjoy off #CBTS, give it a more functional and flexible codebase, and run it on my own box? 🤔 (And do I have enough time and energy to do it before I get distracted by IRL again?) #bots
It's all about renewal in our fourteen-year-old single-player #Minecraft world this week. After deleting some chunks to make way for new world generation, we wandered across the map and discovered weird and wonderful things—in both old and new chunks!
"O Thou kind Lord! Unite all. Let the religions agree and make the nations one, so that they may see each other as one family and the whole earth as one home. May they all live together in perfect harmony." (‘Abdu’l-Bahá)
It's not every day that we're on Bahaicraft at the same time as someone else! Today we spent time hanging out with Jinyuaki, scoping out his latest builds, and getting lost in the nether.
Got a nice, clean stream on Bahaicraft with very little lag. We checked out the new sorting system and took a walk down the new nether road. Oh, and the lilDudes and friends popped in for fun too.
