Ok, AI on Reddit really isn't necessary at this point in time. Still too many bad actors
the company said that the Reddit partnership will provide it access to “real-time, structured and unique content” — allowing its tools and models to “better understand and showcase” that content. Reddit content will be incorporated into ChatGPT,, and the companies will work together to bring unspecified new “AI-powered features” to both Reddit users and moderators.
I will probably delete this toot later.
I have seen AI-generated images containing the same elements (e.g. an AI-generated image with the same amount of cats, two small, and one large white cat with intricate golden patterns, a lotus flower, and a remaining coin at the top) & the same colors in my artwork. I especially mean the right picture in the three-pictured layout.
So I spent a big chunk of my life living next door to Louisiana (Houston) and now I live next door to Quebec (Toronto) and it just this moment occurred to me to check if Quebec has beignets. #Fediverse growing pains: The smallish #PeerTube and #Funkwhale instances I use have gotten big enough that handling all of the data is starting to cause issues, slowdowns and whatnot. The reality of distributed/federated computing coming home to roost?
To be honest, the problem is a lot more pronounced with media sharing than with microblogging. I wonder if that's one reason why there's been a lot more proliferation of microblogging sites on Fedi versus media sharing sites - running your own instance involves a greater investment to handle streaming and storage.
Media storage is going to be an issue for #Pinetta too; it's a can that we've been kicking down the road for a while now.
Now the question is: Is it finally time to move @blackjoy off #CBTS, give it a more functional and flexible codebase, and run it on my own box? 🤔 (And do I have enough time and energy to do it before I get distracted by IRL again?) #bots
