@ThreeOhFour I'd never made the Chickens connection before, but I guess they do have similar visual vibes! The whole SLUDGE engine used to make Out of Order is absolutely fascinating to me, it's a real shame it didn't get as much attention as AGS.
Sometimes you might want a butt in your face, and sometimes you might not.
VERY excited to be playing Pantsmo today. It's a mod of Cosmo's Cosmic Adventure by eviltentacle and I, where we finally clothe that naked little alien boy. And... About half the other items in the game. So far.
I am currently editing our @dosgameclub episode about Donkey Island with @yozy, @emmxyzzy and @sonneveld, that I sadly couldn't participate in - and I think this is such a cool discussion about the game and how the English translation came to be.
I'm kinda sad now I missed it but then again I wouldn't have had much to contribute.
Thanks to @sonneveld — and also me not being bothered to do it myself — I now have a 99 lives version of my favourite janky MS-DOS platformer: The Pack Rat.
This may very well be my worst stream of the year. Feel free to try to sway me off course.
This is a lovely list of adventure game streamers that includes some of my favorite people. I'm honored to be among them. I immediately followed the two I didn't know already. P.S. If your interests overlap with mine, I recommend @MichaelKlamerus as a nice person to follow that shares many good things. https://dosgame.club/@MichaelKlamerus/111403818571948857
If you're a retro gaming fan and have ever wanted to try your hand at streaming, now's the ideal time to give it a shot.
Next month is the annual DOSember, and signups are now open! It's a great way to sync up with a lovely community from the get-go: https://dosember.com/
If you're up for some more diversity, the Gamer of the Year challenge is currently active, with a prize pool of $1000 USD: https://youtu.be/xXbFhGmTT28
@Bogusmeatfactory@dosgameclub I've been meaning to backtrack through the DGC episodes since they've recently been covering a game I translated. Now I know where to start, thanks! :)
@mogwai_poet@robotspacer linked this to me, and I went HECK YEAH KEN'S LABYRINTH, and smiled at my screen for a full ten seconds before realising my titles were in the second row.
@Tijn@eniko Thanks for posting the full link! All the relevant dot coms were taken, or far too expensive to commit to. We did this as an unpaid project, so can't really afford to spend money on pricey domains. ...It'll likely pop up on abandonware sites soon enough for those scared of .zip URLs!
