@daringfireball I had an AppleVison 1710av paired with my PowerMac 8500 and loved it. Bought both as used floor-models and they got me all the way through design school in the late 90s.
Never had any issues personally and always wondered why the 1710av seemed so "lost to history" (...until your post today). Fun trip down memory lane!
I saw a ton of new albums drop on Bandcamp today. For a minute, I thought it was Bandcamp Friday.
"New Strategies for Modern Crime Volume 1" is #Prefuse73's first album in 6 years. I don't know much about the production, but this album sounds more like live instrumentation than his previous albums. It's almost orchestral at parts and musique concrète at others. https://prefuse73.bandcamp.com/album/new-strategies-for-modern-crime-vol-1
@docpop this was my first time seeing it, and it really perked me up (especially after a bumpy exhausting flight home). I love it when interesting art is just sprinkled into the fabric of our lives.
Here's an interview I shot with John Law, a local artist, prankster, and personal inspiration. It was shot on the top of the Oakland Tribune Tower, where he has an amazing office near the top floor. John was one of the co-founders of Burning Man and Santacon, though he spends his time on other fun projects these days. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XfQlXisc--A#Oakland#SanFancisco#SuicideClub#CacophonySociety
It’s my birthday and I’m spending it with friends at Zeitgeist in SF from 11am to 1pm. Please feel free to say hi if you are in the neighborhood. I’d love to meet new Mastodon friends IRL.
@elaterite great shot! I remember getting caught in a lightning storm and “hiding” under that single tree a few years ago. What a climb up to the top too! 😅
