Ach, Rezensionen schreiben macht wirklich keinen Spaß mehr. Ich dachte der Text über X-MEN ist ganz schön geworden, aber das einzige, was die Leute interessiert, ist dass ich so einen dummen Fehler bei Wolverine gemacht habe. (Ich hatte es extra noch mal einem Marvel-Experten gezeigt, dem war es auch nicht aufgefallen leider.)

Ist vielleicht einfache er falsche Beruf für mich.

Gebe ja nie mein Geburtsdatum bei Onlineportalen an.

Bei den Prepaid-Marken der Telekom muss man in der Bestellstrecke auch kein Geburtsdatum angeben.

Daher weiß ich nun, dass Post und Telekom das Geburtsdatum und den zweitem Vornamen einfach aus dem Postident-Verfahren mopsen und für so 'n Marketingkokolores weiternutzen. 🙄

@t3n Mir fallen ziemlich wenige Gründe ein, für KI-Suche Geld zu bezahlen.

Außer natürlich, dass die normale Suche sich weiter verschlechtert. Aber das wird schon nicht passieren... 😬

Okay, ich muss da mal kurz nachdenken. Der größte E-Commerce-Konzern der Welt, der zugleich die leistungsstärkste -Infrastruktur hat, scheitert am Self-Checkout von kassenlosen Supermärkten und es braucht mehr Remote-Supervisors als es Kassierer gebraucht hätte?

Okay. Das mit Jobs durch ersetzen läuft dann vielleicht doch nicht soooo gut.

We have a peer review crisis in computer science, and recent evidence of ChatGPT written peer reviews is just more evidence. Meanwhile, here are things I've been hearing re: benefits of gen AI:

(1) We can draft papers faster!
(2) We can do research faster for things like qualitative analysis of large data!
(3) We might not even need to run human subjects studies, since we can use AI to simulate participants!

Anyway, expect the "way too many papers being submitted" problem to get way worse.

Not saying you're wrong pointing out systemic issues - that's a way larger problem.

@eliasp @isotopp Mittelfristig werden die aus dem Markt gedrängt, weil die von den KI-Cloud-Warehouses den (vermeintlich nützlichen) Trainingsdaten zugeschriebenen Werte* es rechtfertigen, per Venture Capital viel günstiger anzubieten.

  • Es sollte eigentlich klar sein, dass Einkaufszettel oder Schmonzettenromane auf Google Drive nicht eben dazu beitragen werden, dass ein LLM dadurch irgendwie besser würde, aber ich schreib's lieber dazu... 🤷‍♂️

@jollyorc @nblr @isotopp While I agree with the sentiment that people should not need digital literacy, it's also a good lesson to see that digital literacy might be helpful regardless.

(And yes, there is some irony when this comes up with the company that sometime in the past promised to "not be evil"...)

Ich habe eben einem Freund den Unterschied zwischen LLM bei DeepL und LLM bei ChatGPT demonstrieren wollen, und bin dabei etwas eskaliert.

Es fing an mit dem Unterschied zwischen LLM zum Übersetzen und LLM als "generative KI", also als Klischee-Wiederholer.

Doch schon. Denn erzählerische Konsistenz und die kreative Freiheit an der richtigen Stelle daraus auszubrechen widersprechen sich. Temperatur gibt an, wie stringent den bedingten Wahrscheinlichkeiten der Tokens zu folgen ist. Gute Erzählungen haben aber nicht überall die gleiche Temperatur.

Das große Problem an im ist nicht per se, sondern absolut unberechenbare mit anderen Substanzen - denn THC alleine trifft man eher selten an. Gerade mit eine extrem gefährliche Kombination, die nicht ohne genaue Überlegung mit einem versehen werden sollte.

@thomasfuchs The more I think about this (and the AI hype in general), my working hypothesis shifts to the (sad) realization that for "them", there is no qualitative difference in either (or neither): aesthetic, depth and regard for the other party.

That is the shallow reality they live in.

(And no, I don't mean to imply that we'd not all be doomed because of it: It's always been like that - it's just that now it's way easier to see.)
