I need to get a new smartphone since my Pixel 4a ran out of support already. 😞

I narrowed down my options to three devices that fit my requirements.

The Pixel 8a seems to be cheaper and even better compared to the 8.

I won't use games or any of the AI stuff nor Google cloud services. Therefore, I guess that Tensor 4 of the Pixel 9 won't provide much benefit to me.

Unfortunately, the 9 design looks great to me. 🤔

What do you recommend? 🤷 (and why?)

I'm planning on testing on my Pixel 4a after switching to the new phone.

If this does seem to work out fine with my most important apps and services, I'll probably switch the new one to GrapheneOS as well.

i really like #flatnotes, but it's a little bit too minimalistic ... thinking about switching to another #note taking solution ... but there are so many options. #obsidian , #logseq , #joplin ?

main requirements are that its needs to be quick and easy to use; syncing the notes between desktop and android phone (not through external cloud, needs to be #selfhosted) ... preferrably 100% #foss - so i guess obsidian is already out?

@shroombab Vor wenigen Wochen hätte ich es nicht verstanden, dass ich mal einen Kommentar wie "dann nimmt man halt nicht am Diskurs teil" in den Raum werfen würde.

Bin gerade am Reduzieren von Medienkonsum. Wird mir mit proprietären Formaten, Paywalls und so Dingen leichter gemacht als gedacht. 🤷

Gute Entscheidungen sind schwierig...

Die Welt vor der zu retten scheint unmöglich.

Es gibt aber eine sehr menschliche Eigenschaft, die übermenschliche Anstrengungen frei setzt: die .

Mein Lösungsansatz:
Ein "Rettet das Klima"-Steuerset:

5% auf jedes ,
3% jährlich auf jedes

.. nur bis wir sicher sind,
dass wir uns nicht selbst kochen.

Klima retten um zu überleben:
sicher nicht!

Klima retten und Geld sparen:
alle dabei!

@Dorianix Dabei muss allerdings auch garantiert werden, dass das Geld zweckgebunden gegen die Klimakatastrophe eingesetzt werden muss. Keine Ausnahme.

Ansonsten wäre das wieder mal nur ein Mittel, Korruption zu befeuern.

Stack Overflow announced that they are partnering with OpenAI, so I tried to delete my highest-rated answers.

Stack Overflow does not let you delete questions that have accepted answers and many upvotes because it would remove knowledge from the community.

So instead I changed my highest-rated answers to a protest message.

Within an hour mods had changed the questions back and suspended my account for 7 days.

Protest text reads: Why does OpenAI get to profit from our work? I have removed this question in protest of Stack Overflow's decision to partner with OpenAI. This move steals the labour of everyone who contributed to Stack Overflow with no way to opt-out. OpenAI has a history of flooding the web with inaccurate information and have explicitly stated that they will never pay creators for their work.

Das mögliche Grundstück für ein neues GAK-Stadion, zwischen IKEA und Cineplexx wäre wirklich optimal gelegen:

  • Straßenbahn-Endstation
  • Busbahnhof
  • Zug-Bahnhof
  • Autobahnabfahrt
  • mehrspurige Bundesstraße als Zufahrt

Die ersten drei davon sind sogar nur wenige Meter entfernt. Einen besseren Platz gibt es aus Infrastruktur-Sicht wohl nicht in Graz.

Sehr schade - ich fand ihr Interview mit wirklich vielversprechend und mit ehrlichem Drang für mehr Sicherheit getrieben. Es scheint politisch nicht opportun zu sein, Sicherheit über die enge Microsoft-Kundenbeziehung zu priorisieren.
