Also, folx who might have been keeping track, yes I got my second lamy safari, yes it's exactly what I wanted.

So what does @bookstodon think of the Pass the Salt book cover? It is a Nonfiction novella so I am including on this too.

@weirdwriter @bookstodon
I'm not super sold on the color combination but the actual typeset and salt shaker design aspect is interesting.

Thank you to all the folks yesterday, I did decide to get another lamy safari, and your replies and advice really helped to help me decide what it was I loved in particular about the pen. I'll let you know how it goes when it comes in!

folks, I need some input. I have bought several pens, and gifted a few, over the last 6 years or so. My favorite by far is still my lamy safari.

But I want another pen, to carry another ink.
Should I just... Give in and get another safari?

(I've had everything from a 20$ pilot to a 200$ kaweko pen, and both of those are still great pens, bit nothing is quite like my safari)

Feb 13: What’s your favourite thing that you have on your desk or in your writing space?

Looks up from dragonic hoard of Art and Writing Stuff to gaze into the soul of those who would ask this question. A single word croaked from a voice sore with disuse

Eeeeverything.

Dec 12. Have you ever wanted to give up writing?

I gave up most of my creative pursuits in school at one point or another because I had a friend who was 'better' than me at it.

One of my healing journeys as an adult is letting go of those comparisons.

Nov. 28: How do you approach a fight scene or other high-action scenes?

I have a dirty secret - I skip a lot of action scenes when I read. Especially large battles. So um, I also don't really write them? Or at least it hasn't come up yet.

I have one story that ends in a burst of action so I tried to keep it short and punchy but I haven't gotten to editing or beta readings for that story yet so we'll see if it works.

Okay hit me with your short story writing resources.

Specifically pacing/outline related.

Genre is with a heist..ish...still figuring that part out.

Hey, if you're buying books at a convention from a new author, which do you typically prefer?

Assuming both are cheaper than they'd be online, and the hardcover is pricier than the paperbacks.

(feel free to retoot!)

@ClH2OArs
If I had to get one of those two, I'd get a paperback. But my ideal would be a link to a non amazon download because I still read most of my stuff digitally.

Any writer who starts young and lives long enough ends up with that ONE perennially unfinished story that has the clumsy patchwork quality of a thing written by committee...
except the committee is fourteen versions of Past You that you would no longer recognize if you ran into them in the street.
