sometimes I feel like one of the primary reasons for people to skip my posts is because quite a few of them read like gigantic run-on sentences that effectively manage to somehow span the entirety of the 500 characters that a default mastodon installation allows while still somehow being grammatically and functionally correct and not containing a single bit of punctuation or other characters that would otherwise help people discern and split up sentences in a way that makes them more pleasant t-

@Anarcat I get that, but it still has mantainers at the moment, all though not a lot of them, and it's great that Wayland works so well for you, but it's really not for me outside of productivity (which in my opinion it excels at, the touchpad gestures are just so good :blobcatmelt2:), also mind if I ask, how do you get global shortcuts? I know there was a bunch of portals developed for this, but never bothered to check if they finished any of them :blobCat:

@Anarcat The people working on this may be from Wayland, but there is definitely some activity, just take a peek at the xorg mailing list, the latest message is from February 7th. Global shortcuts make it possible to use a shortcut in an application without having to focus on it, e.g. to mute a voice call using a shortcut without having to focus on the application first.
