No liner notes - just an Ellington discography. Probably really pissed of Mingus - if that story is true. The one I heard was that he left due to a conflict between Roach and Mingus about the drum parts - which makes more sense to me as Mingus idolized Ellington and was always deferential to him.
Yep - although without Jan it’s not really the same group. I followed them closely through the early 80s. Now I pretty much only like Ship Of Memories (my favorite) and earlier albums (and Brainbox and Jan’s Profile).

Nice piece. My gut reaction to it is that weather may be the wrong analogy for most mental health conditions/neurodevelopmental differences, which seem more analogous to climate than weather. Also a complex problem, but less chaotic, at least.
