The #UK media is in a frenzy now defending Kevin Lister, whose harassment of a #trans student led to his dismissal. He sued on grounds that his termination had been "discriminatory" to his (actually discriminatory) views. The tribunal correctly identified that it was #Lister who had engaged in discrimination. But what also surfaced was that another student has attempted to intercede before this became an issue, approaching him in private to ask him to do better. So bad was his conduct that it was the student's peers who made the complaint.

Utah HB 157 is now onto the governor. It prevents the state from intervening in situations where parents are trying to force #transgender youth to be cis, or factoring it into custody disputes. It follows similar bills in congress that would prevent courts from declining adoptions to non-affirming parents.

This is it: the newest and bleakest element of the war on #trans youth yet. There are many more of these in the works, both in legislation and the courts.
