I have the habit of referring to Fidalgo Island, Washington, USA as “Bullshit Island.”

Bullshit Island is separated from the mainland by a slough that was dredged by the Army Corps of Engineers so as to make it navigable. So, it became an island on a technicality, which is bullshit, given that there are plenty of honest-to-Christ islands all over the vicinity.
