Hey, he’s like, just this guy, you know?

jordanlund,

Depends on the size of the bookstore. ;)

I was gifted a Little Free Library for my birthday. Total cost for the whole kit was about $800… Without books.

I spent about another $350-$400 populating it, getting business cards, an Instagram account, etc.

I’m not running it as a business, it is a Free Library after all, but I already have one bookstore donating stock in return for cross promotion.

jordanlund,

As of August 16th through the 23rd, Trump had a 42 point lead over Desantis in Georgia:

projects.fivethirtyeight.com/polls/…/georgia/

So claiming a win is no big surprise.

The only thing that might change that are the televised trials starting with Chesebro on 10/23, we don’t have trial dates on Sidney Powell (the other Speedy Trial request) or anyone else.

The primary is on March 12th, so that’s almost 5 months of televised trials that might change opinion.

But as of right now? Yeah, Trump is at 57% with a 42 point lead over the #2 spot, and nobody else is close.

[News] Liberal groups seek to use the Constitution's insurrection clause to block Trump from 2024 ballots (apnews.com)

As former President Donald Trump dominates the Republican presidential primary, some liberal groups and legal experts contend that a rarely used clause of the Constitution prevents him from being president after the Jan. 6, 2021, attack on the U.S. Capitol....

jordanlund,

I don’t see it happening unless he’s actually convicted in the 1/6 or Georgia trials.

Superficially, it seems obvious he broke his oath of office, but using superficial observations isn’t how our court system is supposed to work. “BUT HE LOOKS GUILTY!” ;)

The Cowboys For Trump guy who got bounced out based on the 14th Amendment was actually convicted first.

jordanlund,

Tarrio is probably crapping himself right now. His sentencing is Tuesday.

jordanlund,

Outlook the other day insisted it was better opening links in Edge instead of my default browser… Yeah, I shut THAT down…

jordanlund,
jordanlund,

“What is it with liberals and wanting to control every damn aspect of your life?”

Last time I checked, it was the liberals who wanted to let you smoke weed, have safe and legal abortions, physician assisted suicide, single payer healthcare, and free college tuition…

Somebody else opposed all that… 🤔 Who was it again?

jordanlund,

The People’s Front of Judea!

jordanlund,

Shouldn’t surprise anyone… Paramount and Disney are two of the big companies for shutting down “infringing” projects.

jordanlund,

Tarrio is the one I’m waiting on… Good riddance to bad rubbish!

Election workers have gotten death threats and warnings they will be lynched, the US government says (www.msn.com)

More than a dozen people nationally have been charged with threatening election workers by a Justice Department unit trying to stem the tide of violent and graphic threats against people who count and secure the vote....

jordanlund,

This hits a little close to home since my wife is an elected Precinct Committee Person or PCP.

One of her duties, since Oregon is a vote by mail state, is to monitor ballot drop off locations for any tampering or intimidation.

The last few elections I’ve gone with her, I wouldn’t dream of letting her do this alone in our climate.

Nothing has happened, since we’re in the bluest part of a blue state, but man, I could completely see it happening.

jordanlund,

My guess is wildfire smoke and just the way the air currents are working. You can see the bad air blowing into Oregon East of Gresham.

jordanlund,

I cancelled my Plus and Xbox Live accounts a couple of years ago when Bungie ganked Destiny 2 and there was no point continuing.

Neither service really seems worth maintaining. Oh the “free” games that either a) you already own or b) weren’t worth playing in the first place? (yawn).

jordanlund,

And you have to keep subscribing if you want to keep playing them… Yeah… not free.

Justice Thomas says he used private jet for security reasons after Dobbs leak (www.washingtonpost.com)

Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas reported three 2022 trips on the private jet of a Texas billionaire in a financial disclosure form released Thursday, and for the first time detailed the businessman’s purchase of three properties from the justice’s family years earlier....

jordanlund,

Must be nice to be able to go “Oh, sorry, my bad, that legal filing I made 9 years ago was ‘incorrect’, here, let me ‘amend’ it…”

I’m sure I would TOTALLY be allowed to do that in our non-two-tiered justice system…

jordanlund,

No trial date for Georgia yet, that will be next once everyone pleads and has their “I wanna be in federal court!” requests denied.

jordanlund,

Yeah, but that’s JUST for Chesebro and only because he requested an expedited trial.

“Speedy trial” requests have to start before 11/3 or be thrown out. Sidney Powell has requested one as well and Willis has requested hers be rolled in with Chesebro.

Willis is actually willing to do ALL of them starting 10/23, but we’re waiting on the judges ruling.

Here’s How Doctors On Cable News Assessed McConnell’s Freeze (www.mediaite.com)

Fox News medical contributor Dr. Marc Siegel and CNN Chief Medical Correspondent Dr. Sanjay Gupta both weighed in on Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell’s (R-KY) latest freezing incident on Wednesday and suggested what the underlying health issue could be....

jordanlund,

Must have been the same one I saw, they said not uncommon following a concussion serious enough to be hospitalized for it.

jordanlund,

Of course they did, nobody makes seat belts that small!

jordanlund,

I’m not asking you to feel sad, I’m asking you to recognize that as awful he is, he’s still a human being and has other human beings who, in theory, care about him.

jordanlund,

He’s been a Senator since 1985. 38 years. 6 terms and counting.

Senators should probably be capped at 2 terms, 12 years total. That’s plenty. Equivalent to 6 Congressional terms or 3 Presidential terms.

The problem is, to do this right requires a constitutional amendment.

jordanlund,

Yeah, I’m not sure how I’d phrase it for a term limit, but you probably shouldn’t be able to serve in more than 2 consecutive decades.

Sworn in in the 80s? Congrats, you’re done in the 90s.

The idea that someone could serve in the 80s, 90s, 00s, 10s and 20s is absurd.

Does Anyone Have a TIFU Moment When Cooking?

I was finishing a jar of extremely hot peppers (7 pot primos) that I had fermenting on Thanksgiving day. I made a hot sauce with them and cantaloupe. I had them in a pan at a low simmer to meld the flavors. The problem was the steam coming off was potent as hell. It filled the house when everyone was arriving and coughing from...

jordanlund,

My grandmother’s pancakes:

1 Qt. Buttermilk
2 TBS Baking Soda
1 TBS Salt
4 Cups Flour
2 TBS Baking Powder
1 Pkg Dry Yeast
1/4 C. Oil
6 Eggs

Put 1 quart buttermilk in large bowl and add 2 TBS Baking SODA and 1 TBS Salt.

Mix 4 cups of flour with 2 TBS Baking POWDER, stir this mixture into the buttermilk.

Add one package of dry yeast, 1/4 cup oil. Mix.

Whip 6 eggs till foamy, fold in mixture. Do not use electric mixer, use mixer tine by hand.

Pour batter into large pitcher or bowl. Cover with foil.

The next morning put a cup of milk in the pitcher to thin the batter.

Heat pan until hot. Add 3 TBS or so of oil, when water droplets sizzle in the pan it’s ready. Cook pancakes in 2s or 3s. When the tops are covered in steam-holes then it’s ready to flip. 2 to 3 minutes or so.

Lasts 10 days to 2 weeks in fridge. Yeast will turn black over time, this is normal. Stir batter before use.

jordanlund,

Yeah, never once heard that definition ever.
