1M subscribers channel that's more like a brand style than a person YouTuber has a video about how the job market is unstable. The narrator says "The average time an employee spends with their company is now at the lowest level ever" and a graph starting in the 80s and ending in 2022 appears on-screen for 1 second. I pause and read the graph. The graph is titled "Job tenure is steady" and it shows that in the past 40 years nothing has changed. UHHHHHHHH. What? I'm not saying nothing has changed, but what the heck is this? Did they think no-one would notice their graph to support the claim literally opposes the claim?
@marta To be honest: Most people dont watch these videos. They hear them and look up occasionally.
I always get weird looks when I mention that I use YouTube nearly 100% on my TV and practically never touch my phone while a video is running but… actually watching the video.
That's a concept most people I know don't understand.
@drahardja This stuff can get really dangerous. Glue on pizza might be obvious, eating stones too. But this one? If you have absolutely no experience with cooking meat this could harm you.
Google should really disable this. This is not only about reputation at this point, this it's about public health.
It never ceases to amaze me how blindingly painful a tiny little cut in the center of one's index finger can be. And woe unto them who happen to get some sort of citric acid in there.
Meh, I'm close to buying an e-scooter, but honestly, I don't feel like bringing the thing into the apartment every time. I don't want to store it in the basement; it will definitely get stolen there.
@revengeday Especially if you look at these prices. I drive with e-scooters for years now (since they're in Jelbi) and still haven't spent as much as a new scooter would cost.
Trying to work on my couch for the day. See how it goes.
I usually have two 4K monitors attached to the MacBook and have the MacBook open to use the additional space. But I usually have to manage a dev team. On Friday it’s usually much quieter and I can focus on my dev stuff.
If I work on private projects I do it often from the couch so I know it's doable in theory.
I always have the option to switch to my desk so I guess it's fine.
But the goal is to find a good workflow to only work on one screen from time to time to be more flexible with where I work. For example: I never worked in a café and would like to try this one day.
@evanesca I have the 16" MacBook Pro. Compared to my two 28" 4K monitors.😅
It's working okay so far. Still fiddling with windows. Usually the desigb would be on my MacBook screen, my code editor would be on my main screen and the resulting page would be on the secondary monitor.
To constantly switch is a bit weird, but it works, I guess. Other people are working like this all day, so I think it's just something you have to get used to?
@evanesca Since Apple switched to Apple Silicon this isn't an issue. I have a M1 Pro, which is not as efficient as current processors, but it get's barely warm.
When I had an Intel MacBook it was terrible ^^" But it was also so loud I couldn't concentrate. For the M1 I never ever heard the fans once since I have it ^^
I’ve been playing with air quality sensors and purifiers in Home Assistant. Here’s my current layout on my dashboard; I want to improve it a bit more, but I am loving the glancable styling powered by the sensor values. :)
