I'd like to remind all Mastodon users that you can add a language filter to any follow relationship on Mastodon.

If you follow me and you don't speak German, you can easily remove my German posts from your timeline by adjusting the language settings.

Go to my profile page, select the dot menu and click "Change subscribed languages". Then select the languages that you speak.

This really is a hidden gem 💎 on Mastodon and not many people seem to know this feature :awesome:

A tool for Windows 11 that promises the following features:

  • Disable File Explorer Ads
  • Disable Lock Screen tips and Ads
  • Disable Settings Ads
  • Disable General Tips and Ads
  • Disable "Finish Setup" ads
  • Disable "Welcome Experience" Ads
  • Disable personalized Ads
  • Disable "Tailored Experiences"
  • Disable Start Menu Ads
  • Disable "Notification Suggestions"
  • Disable Bing results in search
  • Disable Edge search bar widget

No hate, but honestly, why not just switch to Unix or Linux? I absolutely understand that many use Windows 11 for gaming, but with all this bloat, I would only start Windows 11 for gaming and nothing else.

I can only speak for myself, but since 2020, I have not been using Windows privately, and I have to say, I don't miss it (okay, except for gaming maybe - Which can now also be done very well on Linux).

I made a new thing: slash pages dot net https://slashpages.net/

What is it? A guide to common pages you can add to your website. Thanks to @shellsharks

Just think about it!

In just 14 days, Microsoft pivoted from "do security" in an internal memo on May 5 to "let's install spyware on everyone's PC" on May 21.

That must be a world record in bad corporate management

something i've noticed with more senior engineers is that it's tough for them to admit when they don't know something

there's nothing more beautiful than saying "i don't know" or saying you need some time to learn first

stay humble and passionate — that's the perfect combo to keep getting better

To be honest: This looks fucking dystopian. 99% of the shown stuff is to dehumanize stuff that is only awesome (crative stuff) or only bearable because of real humans (corporate stuff).

It's disgusting to think about a future where every interaction I have online is some bullshit AI.

Thanks everyone! We closed the loop!

Most websites are now publishing algorithmic generated content in order to please ranking algorithms from search engines in order to display generated ads that will be clicked by crawling bots and automatically generated social profiles.

No humans needed any more!

Which means that you can now close your laptop, watch a sunset and talk to real humans near you. Enjoy your life far from your screen.

It's still so wild to me that you can point out bad practices in javascript or whatever other language or point out a better way to write something and people go "yes of course, that makes sense now, I'll do it this way now" but for CSS those same people throw up their hands and go "I fear I need to reinvent CSS actually" instead of just learning the thing
