Jag har två kommentarer: Svenskt Näringsliv och DI är forking shirtballs. Vi vet alla vad som hände på 90-talet och det tog nästan livet av svensk välfärd.

Också: SN är bara en arm till Tidelaget. Jag jobbade på en PR-firma som jobbade mycket med SN och SN och de blå partierna jobbade mycket ihop på kampanjer där Facebooksidor med neutralt klingande namn förmedlade propaganda förklätt till nyheter. Det här var efter Cambridge Analytica och strategin var kopierad från CA.

He has met with Cheetolini, so I assume there's some dealing going on there: both are enormous narcissists, surrounded by yes-men, hooked on drugs, and with a grasp of science that is tenuous if you average the two of them, both with a savior complex …

The UN Committee on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights have released suggestions for Sweden to improve human rights in areas where Sweden is lacking.

One of the areas: laws regarding drug use. They are recommending Sweden to decriminalize (as per evidence from other countries) because, you know, we have the highest mortality in overdoses in the EU (and the most repressive drug laws by far).

Someone just called string theory "the fanfic of physics" because content is constantly added, but it's not canon (and probably won't be because decades in its still not anywhere close to being a viable theory).

@markcooper I'm very happy that non-materialist explanations of the universe are being taken seriously again. Materialism has failed time and time again in explaining mind and consciousness without relying on magic thinking (aka "emergence") and special treatment of humans.

I am fairly sure that Copernicus is rotating in his grave considering we replaced geocentrism with human-centrism in our scientific model of the universe (in the end, they're the same thing)

Här om dagen var jag ute och körde den nya lastbilen på jobbet. Helt plötsligt började den pipa, helt okontrollerat. Jag förstod ganska fort varför. Jag närmade mig bilen framför, lite för fort. Jag skulle inte säga att jag var på väg att köra in i bilen framför. Varför passiviserar man bilföraren på detta viset?

@snowracer ja, jag håller med om att det är en för strikt gräns. Det finns ju redan system som implementerar något liknande. Vår bil från 2016 har fartbegränsare som jag använder så fort jag kör. För mig är det ett sätt att aktivt hålla reda på begränsning, men den börjar ju varna först vid 3 km över, och då måste man ner till taket för att den ska sluta varna. Det känns som en rimligare approach.

As a gay man, I am offended by “Red White and Royal Blue”. It’s no better than a straight man writing a love story between lesbians, when he’s really acting out his teenage fantasies about what he thinks lesbians are like.

I am also saddened by Uma Thurman participating in this utter shite. It’s the worst kind of exoticism of gay men. If the author was twelve year old it would be understandable, but that an adult wrote this is forking insulting to decency.

The fact that it has such high scores on Rotten Tomatoes and IMDB is a slap in the face to queer cinema.

Oscar Wilde would give up on humanity if he knew that this epitome of milquetoast voyeurism into gay men’s lives would be popular in 2024. It’s written by a person who cannot have met a gay man in their life, or at least has never even asked a gay person what sex is like.

The Twilight saga is Nobel prize material in comparison. Fork whoever wrote this libidoless word vomit.

I woke up at 2am after a relentless nightmare about being hunted by a T-Rex. He chased me through the darkest forest, in a giant industrial garage, had me hiding in closets and the bottom of murky ponds. He had me mouthing "He's coming!" to others with sweat on my brow. Other people are so dumb and loud!

Man, was my amygdala tripping out on flight, fight or freeze impulses! I'm totally tense now! T-Rex's are the worst!

@Thoreau I haven't had that kind of nightmare since I was a kid, and even then it was mild. I remember once, when I dreamt that our (pretty big) apartment building was hollowed out and full with xenomorphs from Alien, and it didn't faze me at all.

Adulthood brought with it other nightmares: not being on time and not being prepared. I'd rather meet Freddy Kreuger than have one of those dreams again (they fortunately stopped almost completely when I quit teaching group fitness classes).

Professional sports person minding their own business, slow swinging to practice. When the guy pesters her she realises she's got to shut him up so hits the longest and straightest shot I've ever seen on a driving range. She handles him very well but HOLY CHRIST WHAT AN ABSOLUTE DICK!

I just learned that Yammer, under Microsoft's ownership, is now called “Viva Engage”

This means that I cannot make fun of the name Xitter anymore, because "Viva Engage" is so boring and pretentious that Bono is taking notes.

The person who came up with this name deserves to be ridiculed for eternity in Heck (it's like a light version of hell for people who didn't really commit sins, but whose actions still prohibit them from getting into heaven)

@falcennial I agree that there is a large proportion of eternally embarrassed billionaires that act as bootlickers and voting base, but I think the problem goes deeper than that in the US.

The Democrats are just as responsible. It's a bipartisan organization that keeps any third party out, and the Democrats have a billionaire problem too (just look at the 2020 election, Bloomberg as a dem candidate?!)

The average American has no recourse, as has been shown in several studies.

@maria nej, jag misstänker att det bara var megalomani, en tanke att man skulle sätta priset på kartan på en gigantisk marknad.

Han som var ordförande vägrar ju svara på frågor och har avgått, så det är väl inte omöjligt att han var mutad av CCP.
