the circumstances surrounding why my old server has to [somewhat temporarily, as in probably for a year] shutdown, were pretty preventable in their own right
generic vps with 50 gb of disk space, if i were getting a vps i couldve at least proxied traffic to some other device on a vpn, i had several options for that when i started the server.....
lack of interest in future proofing
me gradually losing interest in running the server, okay maybe this one is just natural but by the time the thing had to shut down maintaining the poor vps ended up proving to be a nightmare in the very short future
i want to bring it back once i am in better circumstances to run something like that, i guess. so it will likely take a year to get there

shitty 300 dollar laptop with tpm
windows 11 with extra telemetry on obviously
google chrome with all privacy settings turned extremely low, and a few dozen tabs open
a bunch of pups and old toolbars that dont even work anymore

@pernia@kirby@lanodan Thank you, but unfortunately I hate talking with my mouth and if I am awake I am either hacking or working except the two hours or so hours per day allotted to maintenance of the physical form, like eating and bathing and shitting, and even then, if it's a long enough shit, I will come out with some code.
