Iโ€™m just gonna come out and say it.

I really donโ€™t use the official iOS app so I hadnโ€™t seen this change but I took a look and I was quite surprised ๐Ÿ˜ฏ by this. Mastodon, and the by design, are supposed to be decentralized. Thatโ€™s what makes them so great.

But, on the official Mastodon app, the join mastodon.social button obviously gears ones, especially those new to Mastodon, to that instance. The โ€œjoin other serversโ€ button can easily be missed.

@davidslifka @fediversenews There has to be a better way to guide newcomers through that process. To ease the anxiety of picking a server. Like a tutorial of why thatโ€™s there, whatโ€™s the reason, etc. 3rd part apps have it.

@greenback @fediversenews @Gargron Yeah I remember that but there has to be a better way implemented other than this. Better way to ease the anxiety of newcomers to pick a server to better fit their needs, hobbies. Tutorial within the app that guides them through the process. 3rd party apps do this.

@yaitorr I prefer my coffee black but I do like different roasts/beans. I had Jamaican Blue Mountain today, itโ€™s one of my favorites.

As far as roast levels, um, medium and sometimes dark.
