… the life of an io moth …

i found this grub on @liaizon old house porch in november. i kept it in a plastic takeout container and fed it willow leaves until it cocooned in december. a few days ago it emerged a beautiful fuzzy thing. i released it last night, tho it stayed crawling around on my hand for a long time before taking flight.

I was captured by this urban exploration video in Armenia, not just by the vistas and the risk taking, but because I've been in this exact kind of derelict post-Soviet industrial landscape. Only in video games like the S.T.A.L.K.E.R series (2007-2009) taking place in the Chernobyl interdiction zone, of course, but I didn't expect to feel this kind of familiarity looking at an actual place.

was so sick to tattoo such a large composition, and working around a previous tattoo in a way that feels like an expansion of the design is so fun to me. mostly stencil, partly freehand. much time spent making the tendrils flow just right

@liaizon authentic, hand-milled federation, just as Nature intended. the minuscule text from the original tweets, encrusted with several layers of jpeg artifacting, and the patchwork of color schemes, indicating different users using dark or light modes…. all serves a rustic flavor that truly enhances the experience
