A friend who was dealing with an unpromising future where he knew he would need to be taken care of in the not so distant future, once told me that his biggest fear would be when the moment came when the last of his independence would melt away and that he would become a burden to others.

I didn't know how to console him. So I just sat with him and listened.

It amazes me how much, as a culture, that we internalize our own care, and the care of others, as a "burden".

What is wrong with us?

So I'm having the same really odd feelings I had before I had a seizure a few years ago, but now I live alone.

I'm scared to be alone, and have no one to be here with me. I am no longer on the meds they said caused it.

AITA: Yesterday I ordered a new macbook air for my daughter. from history until now, she got my hand-me-downs. she deserved a new computer. the last year has been very hard for her.

I got courier delivery for her because it was $9 and she left her old (my very old macbook behind on vacay.)

Apple said it would be here by 4pm. I chose not to call until 8pm. I hoped if I called by 8pm, it could still be rectified.

If you have a piece of shit smart TV (this is all of them. all of them.) I highly recommend just getting a Chromecast TV (which is, ironically, an HDMI dongle and not a TV), and using that for TV YouTube/chromecast

It is worth the $30-$40 to never deal with Smart TV again
