What can I use 3x Raspberry Pi 3 for?
I thought about setting up room-assistant, but I don't really need that level of visibility for any automation that I have.
Do you know when you have hung on to a mobile phone for too long? When you get a quote to sell it and the phone is worth $2 USD. Sleep well Pixel2. I'll find something for you to do in the #homelab.
I got to have a conversation today about #Linux CFS and cgroups2 with someone at work this morning, so that's fun. It's one of those "magical" things about the kernel that is interesting and also not a good thing to try to outsmart.
I have spent a little bit of time (albeit not nearly enough time) to try and do some reading into it, but I don't think I really fully understand it. 😅
Looking for recommendations for a Zigbee temperature sensor that is safe to put in a fridge?
I'm not sure if that even exists? Batteries aren't supposed to get that cold? #smarthome#homeautomaton#zigbee#homeassistant
I don't get it. I'm a true caffeine addict. I usually have multiple coffees in a day, or sometimes energy drinks.
I haven't had any caffeine since Monday. I was expecting the usual extreme headaches that come every time I do the caffeine reset.... but I haven't had any headaches at all.
Just extreme sleepiness. Not that I'm complaining. I don't want the headaches. But it's weird. Usually I would get a headache the same day if I missed my morning coffee.
@jorijn coffee does taste too good. i'm craving it quite badly, haha. 😭
I try to do a caffeine reset regularly when I feel like I've become less sensitive to caffeine. Last week, I had two energy drinks in the same day but still felt sleepy. 🤣
But this time, it's mainly because the month of ramadan will be starting in two weeks, and I will be fasting. There isn't any suitable time to be drinking coffee/caffeine, so I try to cut it beforehand because it's easier to do while not fasting.
Yeaaaaars ago, in my first job when I was 19 year old help desk kid, my manager gave me a bunch of CDs to put through the shredder as my first task on the job. I don't know why he wanted me to shred them, they were just MS Office and Windows installation media. Not even with a license key or anything.
Does anyone have experience running their Home Lab in a high humidity environment?
I want to move my home lab to my conservatory, but I'm worried because the humidity and temperature is quite variable. Humidity goes between 50%-80%, and lowest temperature I have seen so far has been 4°C. I'm a little worried about condensation.
@funkypenguin If I remember correctly, you had your homelab in your garage? That must have high humidity when it rains outside?
