MNT RCM4 revision 3 is done, nearing release. so far tested with RPi CM4 and BPi CM4 (Amlogic A311D), enabling the use of these modules in MNT Reform laptops.

stress testing amlogic 311d processor in MNT Reform w/ RCM4 adapter prototype (and banana pi CM4 module). it's pretty snappy!

on RPi CM4, is PCIe_CLK_P/PCIe_CLK_N really output-only? or can it be configured for input as well?

@GyrosGeier from imx i'm used to sourcing host and device refclks from the same source. would this also work with different sources? i.e. device has its own generator

MNT Reform (with i.MX8MQ) support was finally merged into mainline u-boot. thanks to Patrick and Vagrant! https://github.com/u-boot/u-boot/commit/ebe2e0c309470249ffb09480d39c2dea9e64871c

Didnt have quite enough foil and tape to protect the two connectors near it, or left my hot air there too long. But replaced the failed mosfet on my Reform board myself. Q17 right next to them. @mntmn

The mosfet removed showing the foil and kapton tape used to protect other components

@ChartreuseK ah, darn! do you have shorts downstream, for example on 5V rail or 3V3 rail?

Cool, another wave of spam accounts from mastodon.social :Blobhaj_Sad_Reach:

This is also a result of one instance being so huge and the "default"

@esther i would move to a different server but... it looks like there is no good solution for moving/restoring one's old posts?

superna9999, to random French

The support for CM4 module with BPI-CM4IO board has been merged https://github.com/armbian/build/pull/4941 !
Now, the BPI-CM4 module should work with RPi CM4 compliant boards, but I only have access to the BananaPi one... So could people can test on some other base-boards or send me some base-boards for testing and I'll upstream Linux/U-Boot for them!

mntmn,
@mntmn@mastodon.social avatar

@superna9999 hey so i just tested the armbian build and now also my own mainline git kernel build, and it works fine so far. i'm trying to pull in your DSI patchset to test it with our display, but stuck with the definitions of these clocks, reset and PHY (see screenshot). do you have a working example for the dts node?

mntmn,
@mntmn@mastodon.social avatar

@superna9999 this is what i cobbled together now, can you comment? also i get dtc warnings on the regs. normally these should be 4 numbers? and dphy address 0, is that ok?

mntmn,
@mntmn@mastodon.social avatar

@superna9999 OK, after more digging this is what i have come up with, am i on the right track?

mntmn,
@mntmn@mastodon.social avatar

@superna9999 ok, in the meantime i found your branch and updated my dts accordingly. but i can't get the thing to integrate with the sn65dsi86 bridge... there seems to be some probing race
