Now I watched and... well that was an hour of television. In some respect that worked better than , in others it... didn't, at least for me. Gatwa brings a lot to and there's enough mystery around Ruby to keep me watching. But let's just say that I'm really glad the next episode is written by .

@jynersolives THIS for reals though. People were raving about it over on the other place, and yes Ncuti is fantastic, I mean FUCKING HELL he's fantastic, and Jinx was suitably flamboyant as Maestro - but there's something really missing for me. It's like all the boxes are getting ticked for why they should be great, but they're not doing it for me.

@jynersolives I’m hoping to watch Boom Friday night and am 95% looking forward it, 5% concerned about Moffats writing on war which I’ve not enjoyed in the past…. I mean didn’t care at the time, find a bit insipid now I’m [only slightly] impacted by something.

I have read that Boom is loads better than the first two, and apparently this week’s is better than Boom??

@jynersolives also the Ruby mystery! While I’m not a fan of companions being “the most special” - I do think it’s been done really well - using the snkw is so much better than villains of the week taking about the one who waits etc. I’m definitely engaged in what Ruby’s deal is

    @jynersolives I hadn’t heard of the series before the trailer was announced (?) yesterday, watched it today and … 🤷‍♀️

    I know I’m not close to SW because I don’t have Disney, but I do feel like I’m getting further away from it with each new series [I don’t watch until months later so never got the hype]

    As a Moffat fangirl I’m SUPER excited to watch, but god I’m bored too! Bringing old writers back was fine (ish) when the show ran multiple stories every single year, but when there’s so few I want new ideas and voices.

    Grumpy. I know I’ always grumpy.

    And even more hypocritically it just makes me want to watch old 60s who more. Even I know that doesnt make sense

    With the specials and new series dropping soon, I thought it might be interesting to share our favourite aspects of and maybe find cool people to follow. I shall start:

    Favourite Doctor - 2, 7, 11, 13.

    Favourite Companion - Jamie, Ace and Ryan

    Favourite Story ever - I feel like saying The War Games. Ask me tomorrow and it’ll change

    The thing I want to know more about - 60/70s production history.

    The hill I’ll die on - Ryan Sinclair was a GREAT companion and 60s Who is the best!

    OMG they saved the best until last because that final sequence was magic. ALL. THE. FEELS.

    I love these two. I'm so glad they got to be on screen in character again and get to feel the love that's held for them.

    There’s a sale on at the moment for sets 1-4 and it’s payday on Monday so I’m thinking about giving it a go.

    @cliffwade @MsSammieRose I’ve only just started my first listen through (on blank space) and agree - the difference in her voice seems more noticeable.

    Honestly though I’m here for it as it adds to this being a new experience
