Behavior between verdict and judgement usually is.
So on one hand, this is a non-violent case about someone with no (official) criminal record. This usually results in parole and a slap on the wrist.
On the other hand, he shows no remorse for the crimes he’s been found guilty of, and it seems he’s doing everything he can to piss off the ones who are deciding his future.
EDIT: I hear reports that the one downvote was from president 34 himself.
EDIT2: Aileen Cannon also joined.
In what he described as an “emergency broadcast” on Saturday, conspiracy theorist Alex Jones claimed that his far-right news company, Infowars’, studios in Austin, Texas, might be shut down by federal authorities soon....
It’s worth noting that almost every episode he broadcasts contains “emergency broadcast”. And he’s made claims that he’s about to be arrested/assassinated/disappeared/shut down for well over 20 years at this point.
Looking forward to the next ep of KnowledgeFight, though.
EDIT: Sweet, new ep or KF is out!
EDIT 2: Hoboy, this is a wild one. Even those who normally don’t listen to Knowledge Fight should check this one out (episode #930).
So, I’ve really started to make some large changes to my life after many years of being a degenerate and all my money going on smoking weed and doing other drugs with friends etc....
It’s only as overwhelming as your trip. Start simple: Overnight in a tent somewhere close to home. Bring what you think you’ll need, and if it turns out you overlooked something vital, you can always go home whenever.
Baby steps. Nobody camps a week in the wilderness alone, miles away from civilization their first time.
On short trips nearby, you can get by with the bare minimum: tent to sleep in, something to sleep on, something to sleep under. A sleeping bag can cover the two latter points. Personally i like blankets better, provided I set up the tent so.ewhere reasonably soft. Bring as much food and drink you think you’ll need - It doesn’t have to be a full meal. If it’s only over night, even a bag of chips and a bottle of water will do.
If I remember correctly, it was a regular folder with a special icon. The intention was that you could drag&drop it to some removable media to move between computers.
I guess MS envisioned it as a digital replacement for the physical suitcase of documents you’d bring to/from work.
Furthermore, this “digital replacement” strategy can be seen in other (now mostly defunct) MS programs such as that program that was bundled with windows 3.11 ( I think it was called wincard.exe) that mimiced a rolodex.
I’ll take my MCSE now, thank you.
EDIT: Seems there was some sync stuff with it as well. I’ll settle for some junior certification, thank you.
It’s not the gotcha that they think it is. Increasing share of Linux, steam deck or not is progress. Any development or considerations made for the SteamDeck and its Arch based OS benefit the non SteamDeck Linux gaming scene too....
I think the argument being made is that it doesn’t mean more users are manually migrating to linux, because you don’t buy a steamdeck because of its OS. You use steamOS because it comes with the steam deck.
However, users choosing linux over windows is only one aspect of the good news: Widespread linux use, intentional or not, makes it less likely that a developer will skip it as a platform “not worth the extra effort”
I’m by no means an authority on this subject. At best I’m an enthusiastic amateur, so take my answer with a bucket of salt.
The static on the radio comes from the redshifted heat of the universe expanding. Even if all energy in the universe has evened out, the expansion is still going on, creating the redshifted heat.
However, so much time will have passed that the distances involved will cause this redshift to be even greater. At some point this static will be on a spectrum too low for a radio to pick up.
Also, even if you were able to tune your radio low enough, as the static is now created outside of the observable universe, there’s no new noise that can reach you.
So my company decided to migrate office suite and email etc to Microsoft365. Whatever. But for 2FA login they decided to disable the option to choose “any authenticator” and force Microsoft Authenticator on the (private) phones of both employees and volunteers. Is there any valid reason why they would do this, like it’s...
Can you claim that you don’t have a smartphone? Then they’d either have to provide an alternative authentication method, or provide you with a phone.
I’ve been part of the Microsoft Bad crowd for well over 25 years now, but there are a few things that I will concede that MS has done well. Authenticator is one of them. I haven’t looked much into the privacy aspect of it, though.
Leaded gasoline is still around. It’s rarely at the pump, though. Cars that need it can add lead by pouring it in with regular gas.
Small aircraft mostly use leaded gasoline (AVGAS100LL), as aircraft regulations change at the pace of continental drift. Most of these aircraft would run fine on an unleaded equivalent, and us GA enthusiasts hope for change in this regard.
My pick is Five Finger Death Punch and the obvious answer is Ivan Moody. The guy radiates that alpha-male wannabe energy and it definitely rings through all of the songs he has written and performed with this band. The guy is just a prick and a self-victimizing asshole....
I also think Guns’n Roses have soome fucking awesome riffs and songs, but I find Axl Rose to be an insufferable cunt of a diva. Slash, Izzy, Duff, and Adler should have released Appetite for Destruction with a different vocalist.
As much as I like the concept of GDPR, i think it didn’t fo far enough. EU tried, but they should’ve thought it through a few more times. For example I would’ve loved for the cookie warning to have a mandated “No to everything, get fucked, and never ask about access from this IP again.”-button
New here. Migrated from Reddit. Still trying to figure out Lemmy - what’s everyone’s experiences like coming from Reddit and does Lemmy serve as a good alternative? Pros and cons/differences?...
Depends what you’re after, really. I find that lemmy has less of an echo chamber, but the average political stance is a lot more left-ish than reddit.
If your opinion is considered garbage, you’ll probably be downvoted for it, but banned is another thing; You can find an instance more to your liking, for example if you post tankie stuff on lemmygrad, you’ll probably only get praise from there.
It mostly comes down to how a platform with many people tend to naturally operate - garbage people get treated at such by the rest. So whatever your leanings might be, I suggest you find an instance that is somewhat reasonably close to share your values.
Other than that, one of the main differences from reddit is the content quantity - Smaller user base means less content. And I’m perfectly fine with that, as I can keep up with the feed without scrolling for hours.
Also, here I can say that I don’t give two shits about neither Zelda nor Link, without fear of backlash. At least yhe contemporary games - Everything since Link II for NES has been kinda meh in my book.
And if you want to filter out politics, blocking lemmygrad takes away most of the tankie-spam.
I accepted my current position early 2020, with the understanding that I would move to The Big City eventually. Then covid came. Yeah, that aint happening. As much as I enjoy cities, I prefer to live somewhat in the middle of nowhere where my mortgage is less than 10% of my monthly income

Did they have to track down leaded gas? Did they just use unleaded? Did they suffer engine knock?
