I was today years old to learn that this :

<div />
outside

actually puts the word "outside"... inside <div>. Because trailing slash is ignored and <div/> becomes <div>

Just finished reading Animal Farm for the first time in my life. It was good, I guess, but almost exhausting in its lack of subtlety for metaphor and allegory. I suppose that's why you read it and learn about it in high school.

Should I watch the old movies of it? Gollum directing one for next year, too: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Animal_Farm_(upcoming_film)

1984 is next! Never read nor seen.

@jw 1984 is much better and it inspired a ton of sci-fi (and Chinese government). Also check out the movie "Brazil" by Terry Gilliam. It's loosely based on 1984 https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0088846/

An electric car is rather quiet, which is great. Except when you're driving around with an infant who sleeps well only to the sound of a humming car engine. So... I use a smartphone app generating white noise, jungle sounds, a fireplace, a hair dryer and... an internal combustion engine. I play that sound through Bluetooth to simulate a noisy vehicle inside. What a time to be alive!
