yes, the only reason I tune my guitars a half-step down is because I'm a hipster who needs to be special in all areas of life

@RickiTarr I'm chronically suicidal, since infancy. (based on what I've been told)
even when not suicidal the barrage of reminders I'm unfit for this world make me feel it's my best option.

I've long since purged my self-abhorrence. I'm in love with me.
"unfit" is a fact; I'm not equipped for life under capitalism in so many ways.

I talk to people from the UK pretty regularly, I watch a lot of BBC programming, I read a lot of books by authors from the UK, but sometimes they will suddenly use a word I've never heard in my life, and I'm beginning to think they are pranking us, and every other person from the UK is in on the joke, and just validates whatever the other person says!

It really is wild to me how many punches to the face by arbitrary censorship the vast majority of mainstream social media users will take, yet refuse to even TRY using something like Mastodon because "iT's ToO cOnFuSiNg" 🤪 it's really not, they're just so habituated to the abuse that they've completely normalized letting soulless capitalists decide what (pro nazi, pro anti vaxxer, etc etc) content they're allowed to post.

Chrissakes I don't know why I even bother. Constantly hearing "I don't have the time/energy to use anything but the mainstream platforms I'm already on" makes me want to punch my computer monitor, as if constantly navigating the hurdles of arbitrary censorship doesn't take a hell of a lot of time and energy already. 🙄

can't say I don't get it, but in my mind that means getting to be one of the accounts already on here that maybe convinces some folks to migrate over (not that I'm Gaiman or Takei :p maybe Neil should migrate to writing.exchange?? ahaha)

I've seen more and more popular webcomic artists making accounts here since I joined, maybe that'll nudge some folks?
