https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=R2oD1ZHNMFE Zermatt, Switzerland banned cars (except tiny electric ones) by Tom Scott very interesting video to see @notjustbikes

pacorob,

@notjustbikes Thank I will now check that out. I have had this town in the options last year and might go there next year via OBBโ€™s Nightjet and SBB last part of the trip. Loving the fact that you can go to a lot of Swiss mountain towns by train such as Davos, Arosa and Zermatt.

OMG YES!!

In iOS 17 you can FINALLY run automations triggered by Bluetooth without confirmation

Before, you had to confirm this each time.

pacorob,

@stooovie Excellent finally!

pacorob,

@stooovie You
Might find my app collection that supports audio automation. I love iCatcher for podcasts, Musi for YT playlists, BookPlayer and Broadcasts for radio. https://appraven.net/collection/37996829

Meta made it so you canโ€™t delete your Threads account unless you also delete your Instagram

Almost forgot I started working on a Bluesky app a few weeks ago ๐Ÿซข
Anyone still using that site?
I just logged in and the main timeline is still a chaos of replies to people I do not follow.

pacorob,

@mttvll Iโ€™m not using it. Iโ€™ve tried to get access. Iโ€™d rather see a Reddit alternative so a Lemmy (or kbin) iOS client. Lemmy client would make a lot of sense.

How are folks finding Mastodon of late? It feels a bit quieter for me, but still active.

(I saw folks over on eg comics Twitter noting they wonโ€™t come here, which I thought a pity. But some noted they werenโ€™t getting any notifications these days.)

pacorob,

@craiggrannell I still expected more people to switch from Twitter but it appears there are still so many people, institutes, experts in many fields that remain on Twitter. I do still like the nice communication here and have found a lot of Apple enthousiasts, developers and some friends here. Also loving the third party Mastodon clients.

Is adding a way to save posts as drafts too? I have tabs open with half finished thoughts, I'd rather have them saved somewhere else to come back to

pacorob,

@elduvelle @axoaxonic Indeed the majority of third party clients do support drafts see also this comparison sheet: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1De5KRwqMIdwEryfoeBLARgxF7QgKkeOQBCilKuIdAXE/htmlview

So @johnvoorhees has convinced me to try the Podcasts app again before WWDC.

Here's something I find extremely perplexing:

Why are there two different Up Next queues?

What's the point? Which one am I supposed to care about?

pacorob,

@viticci I still love using iCatcher podcast player with excellent filters and Apple Shortcuts Automation support to easily listen to my favorite podcasts with a Bluetooth connection and a press of a button. Btw Castro and Overcast also support Audio Automation bit to my knowledge Pocket Casts lacks this option.
